  1. There was an opportunity for other ways to rebuild, but the moment DR started selling off the old core and speaking of suffering the die was cast. We must stay the course, and yes three years in is still part of the original timeline, and no it's not guaranteed to work.
  2. One year, hopefully soon, we'll be buyers at the deadline. Then we can trade for a McGinn type dime a dozen depth player and watch as people get pissed that GMTM didn't do enough. It'll be fun.
  3. Bills 2020. The year we might have a shot at the AFC East.
  4. This is the tank thread. We won last night under CHL nomenclature. You're good.
  5. Probably, but that was a series of events that will likely never be witnessed again. Paetsch, Fitzpatrick, Jillson and Janik. WTF?
  6. Yep, of course the fact that people largely can't see this is the reason he's had a strong run thus far. It's all bluster...and it's working.
  7. New Belgiums new Citradelic IPA. Citra hops with a light touch of tangerine. This one and Sierra Nevada's new Beer Camp Tropical IPA are awesome.
  8. My wife likes Dirty little freak (coconut caramel?) and Sweet Baby Jesus (peanut butter Porter?) from Duclaw. I may have the names and styles reversed, but I like the peanut butter Porter for a few sips, but wouldn't want a pint or more.
  9. Let the chips fall where they may, and hopefully we get the reach around from the hockey gods this one time.
  10. I was surprised too when I moved here. Once upon a time I was a 3rd degree Knight in WNY, but I haven't been involved here. AFAIK they don't have brick and mortar councils here like they have all over WNY.
  11. Yeah I hesitate to call what the KoC does a fish fry, as it doesn't hold a candle to a Buffalo FF. But the proceeds tonight go to my sons school band so gotta do it.
  12. Lent. Fish fry from local Knights of Columbus for me.
  13. Raleigh Durham and east is vinegar. Tomato based starts West of here into Tennessee. I have to admit the vinegar sauce has grown on me over the years, and now I buy hot vinegar BBQ sauce by the case from my favorite local joint. My friends and family in Buffalo don't let me come home without it.
  14. Bark. That and the smoke are the key missing attributes from crock pot and other versions of pulled pork that would send NC natives into convulsions. They are damn serious about their pork barbeque in these here parts. Don't even begin to get them started on the vinegar vs. Ketchup based BBQ sauce debate.
  15. Not àt all, there is an authentic Mexican food truck that makes the best carnitas you've ever had right down the road from me....but if you invite over a native North Carolinian and serve crock pot pulled pork, I think they end up staging a Civil War reenactment battle in your backyard. Kind of similar to many of the chicken wing sacrilege practices we witness outside of WNY.
  16. In all fairness Texas is more known for beef BBQ, but I think if you make crockpot pulled pork in NC....bad things happen, really bad things.

  18. Done hasselback potatoes on the grill, never chicken...it might be worth a try.

  20. Prog rocker who has recently released a string of great solo albums, before that the lead force behind the band Porcupine Tree.
  21. I hope so too. Tommy is an old friend and high school classmate of mine, but to this untrained and perhaps biased ear it certainly sounds as if he has the chops and a fantastic set of blues songs here. I believe the album was in the top 10 blues albums on itunes earlier this week.
  22. The stellar new album Blizzard of Blues from world class blues guitarist and Buffalo native Tommy Z. Check it out and catch him live around WNY if you get a chance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_IhdRkQA0Q
  23. Fantastic Bowie tribute from Steven Wilson...
