Yes, originally an instrumental that they changed when Neil gave them some lyrics. I agree some of the time changes seem forced, but it's still quintessential Rush and freaking awesome.

Nice. I see they move to Charlotte the next day. My first Big Head Todd / Blues Traveler show was back in 1994 for the HORDE festival in Darien Lake, we arrived at the show very early when the largely unknown bands were playing. On the main stage we sat down amongst the rows and rows of empty seats to take in this band with a fiddle player, saxophonist and geeky looking singer. I enjoyed their set a lot, so I turned and asked a guy near me who the band was.. "Dave something Band" is what he said. In about six months the Dave Matthews Band would become one of the biggest bands in the world. I always use that story on my wife as the reason why you never skip the opening act. I used to really like BNL too, I remember seeing them at the Icon downtown before their first album came out, improving songs about Tom Jolls and Irv Weinstein. Good stuff. They kind of lost me though when they hit it big with that song one week.

I'll be catching the Rush show as well, probably in Charlotte because they wont be coming to Raleigh. In July, my wife and some neighbors are attending a concert at the new outdoor venue in downtown Raleigh. It works out well since there will be a band for everyone. BNL headlines, and my wife's a huge fan. Blues Traveler, a few of my neighbors are really into them, and I like some early stuff of theirs. Big Head Todd and the Monsters are one of my favorite bands, just a fantastic live act. Cracker,ok I don't think anyone is going specifically to see Cracker, although I've heard they are quite good. And next week..May 10th in Myrtle Beach at the House Of Blues. Steel Panther. I'm really excited for this show. 80's hair metal at it's finest. Myself and a couple of other 40-somethings will be road tripping it down for the show. I'm sure I'll feel like I'm 18 again and hitting the road to a GnR show.

Agreed. Nearly 40 years into their career these guys still have no peer in the rock / metal genre IMO. Here is the official video from rush.com with lyrics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcFGrWjOX0E

I'm leaving work early today to leave for the Y guides spring outing camping trip with my son out at the NC coast. A weekend of biking, fishing, swimming, canoeing, archery, bb guns, campfires, etc, etc. All I need to do is pick up the "firewater" on my way home tonight. F'N Fantastic!

It's only an 30 second instrumental teaser but this has been stuck in my head the last few days. To me this is clearly a nod to Rush's more raw 70's sound. I think the full song gets released to radio this Thursday which means I'll actually tune into my local rock station for the first time in many years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK9PTQzopCA

As tax day looms this one is stuck in my head.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMQdtyot38s&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PL68DC1CE896FD3B6E

Ahh yes, the old time barbershop. I have many fond memories of the shop I frequented in Hamburg growing up. The fridge was always stocked with beer and liquor for the regulars, a good assortment of playboys available for your perusal, and a tape of The Godfather on constant loop in the VCR. Plus great sports talk, local gossip and off color jokes. A place where men can be men.

I don't agree that 95% of the players in this league consistently fail to live up to the role they are asked to play for their teams.

I'm going on Staffords entire body of work during his time in Buffalo. Based on that I'm beyond done with him and am not going to get sucked in again by a brief flourish of solid play.
-
In terms of addition by subtraction I too believe that Roy and Stafford are 1 and 1a on that list. Getting rid of those two for any reasonable replacements has me instantly more optimistic for next season.
-
I was thinking the same thing this morning. My honey do list has gotten a bit backed up over the last month or so.

Thanks for the warning. Gentlemen, today is not the day to try the patience of chz.

I thought I remembered getting an email from SA a few months back stating that Noble Pils will now be a year round offering. I havent seen it down here on the shelves yet though. I love that beer, it's the best in the SA lineup IMO.

I actually saw those at the grocery store down here in NC.

I feel your pain. Years ago st an old job i was tasked with cleaning out a -80 freezer. At the bottom i came across three unlabeled whole rat carcasses in plain brown paper bags. Rat popcicles WTF??

I missed that by just a little bit, but I remember all of our gym teachers yelling at us when we complained about swimming that we were lucky we weren't swimming naked. Speaking of gym class back in the day, does anyone know if they still play dodgeball in the high schools these days? They were on the verge of outlawing it when I was in school in the late 80's. Personally I loved playing it because I had a good arm and could do some damage, but man I can see how that game would seriously traumatize some kids.
-
Yeah, but would you carry on idle chit chat with others while doing your business?
-
It's not just old guys. I played baseball in high school and one of my teammates would always take dumps in the door-less stall and try to carry on conversations with the rest of us while doing so.

Horrible. This was my "complaint" a few weeks ago when three young fathers I know all dropped dead in their late 30's or early 40's within a one month time frame. All left behind young families. It's just brutal and beyond comprehension. So sad and tragic.

I just found a bottle of Bells Hopslam that a friend left at my man cave for my St. Patricks day party. A damn good beer to celebrate a huge win!
-
Good post. Im just happy the Sabres have managed to make these games relevant. The games were largely unwatchable in December and January.

Keep your puke bucket handy while you reading!

I feel your pain. I just had a colleague escape the brutality of corporate bureaucracy that we endure here last Friday. He's already emailed me multiple times this week to rub it in. I nearly lost it a few months ago at some BS function that we were forced to attend, where our CEO introduced our new "VP of Change". :wallbash:

I'm probably the only one who won't laugh at you here. I've got what you just described going on permanently. Of course I've also got an F-ed up left eye and a nasty scar to go along with it, but still the question I get most often is: Hey, what happened to your eyebrow?
