Didn't take it that way, this is all in good fun. I'm not so much 'pro rumor' as I am like you in not understanding why this is always such a hot button issue around here.

I was under the impression that with anything posted in this rumor thread, it is assumed that there is no more credibility to it than if you dreamed it up in your head and posted it, and the other threads were left for reports from trusted sources.

You should either do that, or take them for what they are based on the above definition and ignore whatever twitter source / web page that they come from and pretend that someone here just posted, "hey, what do you think about if we traded player X and Y for player Z?" What you shouldn't do is: 1.) Believe any of them as if they came from a trusted news source 2.) Let it piss you off.

To follow up on this post and get away from the debate between the two parties, and instead put the focus back on the fact that they are ALL crooks, are people are still comfortable sending the same leadership to Washington after reading this kind of stuff?

Sure they could, but then again who's to say that they aren't already?? Those of us who were around and following hockey in the pre-internet days probably all knew someone who claimed to have a "source" inside the Sabres. It could have been a family member, schoolmate, co-worker or your barber, but we all knew someone who claimed to be in the know. For me, I knew two classmates who were always sitting down at lunch with some juicy Sabres rumors. Most were "wrong", until they were right. But either way we enjoyed throwing scenarios back and forth at the lunch table or the pick up hockey game based on these rumors. That's what these rumor sites represent to me, nothing more or less. In my opinion, the only thing crazier than taking these things as gospel, is to get all riled up about them. The funny things is that now that I live 700 miles away from Buffalo, I personally do have a source who is very close to someone high up in the Sabres organization, but I'd never dream of sharing anything I learn on here with way people react to these things.

So who heard the Howard Simon show this morning? They spent 15 minutes on this Hockey Insider person, 15 minutes more than they would have ever spent on him without all the people freaking out I'll add. But they nailed what I've been saying dead on, it doesn't matter if that account is linked to a high school kid in his moms basement, an actual guy who has worked for four NHL teams or my fargin mailman. The account posts rumors, it's for entertainment and conversation purposes only, and some people take it for way more than what its worth.

Who gets all bent out of shape every time someone posts one of these rumors and then ask yourself again who is taking him seriously and who isn't.

But I didn't say they care who you vote for, obviously their main focus is to maximize ratings. What can't be ignored is the bias on display from BOTH networks and the effect that has on a dumbed down electorate who regurgitate the talking points fed to them in a constant effort to demonize the other side so that their.guy wins. Wash, rinse, repeat and you have what we have on display in Washington.

I have to disagree. The MSNBC liberal agenda is every bit as contrived as Fox's conservative agenda in my opinion. That anyone buys into the nonsense that either one is selling is one of the main reasons why we keep sending the same crooks to Washington to steal from us.

I wouldn't get mad, I fully realize that they are both biased and therefore have no use for either one of them. Certainly their main goal is to get you to consume more of what they're selling, that's why they are in the news business. I just thought it was interesting that you only chose to concede on Fox and not it's equal MSNBC.

I guess. Why you wouldn't concede the bias of a news organization that is the Fox News of the left is kind of telling though.

But you won't concede that MSNBC is a network with a decided liberal bent?

This should be required reading for all registered voters. If you can read this and still get behind the idea of sending the same "leaders" to Washington year after year, then I don't know how to help you. Throw Them All Out Or just read this book review. .

I would if I was in town, but I have to say after looking at the site and the listed breweries, the lineup is a bit of a disappointment. Breweries/Beers I would seek out: Brooklyn brewery Ellicottville - that pale ale looks interesting Flying Bison - Rusty Chain and Aviator are great. Say hi to Tim Herzog for me. Gordon Biersch - Oktoberfest Great Lakes - No Burning River or Dortmunder, WTF? Brewery Ommegang - Witte and Rare Vos are probably my two least favorite of their offerings. Should've had Hennepin. Rohrbach Brewing - California IPA looks interesting, hopefully they lay off the crystal malt like a true Cal IPA does. Victory - Out of all they breweries there, this is the one I'd normally be most excited about, but they are only pouring their Summer Ale? That's IT???!! Major fail.

There are a lot of guys who should have been the Sabres next coach. Hooray, and off we go on another 'Lindy sucks and the same five guys can keep telling us how much he sucks and how much better we'd be with X coach even though Lindy ain't going anywhere' thread. Now it's officially the dog days boys and girls.

Been awhile since I lived in WNY, but going by places we make a point of going to when we are in town Best (higher end) Olivers, Hutch's, Daniel's (Hamburg), Old Orchard Best wings: Mammoser's tavern (Hamburg) / Bar Bil Tavern (East Aurora) Fish fry: Crows Nest, Loughrans Mosy overrated: By far..... Duff's! Also, being in NC now I'm pretty sure any BBQ I get in WNY I would consider bad or at best overrated.
