  1. This story reminds me of two things.. 1.) In college we also had a soiled toilet seat problem in our dorm. It turns out this kid was from a part of the world where toilets are not common, and people there just relieve themselves in holes in the ground, So this guy wasn't used to sitting on a toilet in a conventional manner, instead he would squat on the seat and go. This is all fine and good except for one problem, his aim wasn't the best and as a result you'd often go into the bathroom to do your business only to find a ###### covered toilet seat that he wouldn't clean up. We brought this to the attention of our RA and RD, but neither would do anything about it at the risk of offending someone from a different culture. We started calling this guy the bombardier and ended up getting into trouble with the university for being culturally insensitive, never mind our argument that this d-bag was being hygienically insensitive. 2.) Never use bungee cords without eye protection. Seriously. I'm blind in one eye from an auto accident and have been to many different eye docs over the years, a few of them have told me that bungee cord mishaps are one of the most common ways that people suffer eye trauma.
  2. It really boggles the mind how this can occur. The Howard Stern offender claimed that it wasn't on purpose and that he just couldn't sit down fast enough before he exploded. But still they found ###### on the light switch and up the walls almost to the ceiling. It's almost like you need the equivalent of a blood spatter expert to make sense of what happened.
  3. That sucks. Someone on Howard Stern's staff recently did the assplosion thing in their mens room. They took swabs to send out for DNA analysis, Howard gave his staff one last chance for the culprit to come forward or else he would fire the offender when they DNA results came back. It took about two minutes for the guy to confess. This would likely still work in your case because if they are able to fire someone with cause then they won't be eligible for unemployment benefits.
  4. I'm no Romney supporter, but I'd like to know where he or his campaign ever said he wanted to run government like a business? What I've heard from him and his campaign is to tout his successes in the business world and how that will allow him as president to do the things necessary to help businesses succeed. Not that I believe that he or Obama will be able to accomplish this anyway, but that's what I've heard from the Romney camp.
  5. Interesting, I had no knowledge of Slate and what way it leans before today, but how could anyone read the first sentence of that article and not know that the author has an axe to grind?
  6. More like glittering prizes and endless compromises shatter the illusion of integrity. Here is is right from Big Al himself saying they'd prefer not to be there. ABBA? Really ABBA? They are just one of many examples of the joke that is the RnR HOF. That would be like having Matthew Barnaby in the hockey hall of fame, it would lose just a bit of it's luster for anyone who had to follow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMSEW6UYF88
  7. Individually I'm pretty certain the members of Rush would prefer to decline induction, but because of the fans they would likely accept.
  8. I'm numb to the Bills and have been for quite some time. I can only laugh when watching this franchise sink to new lows each week.
  9. Rush finally nominated for induction into the RnR HOF, what would be awesome is if they declined in the event that they are actually picked.
  10. I'll have to check that one out. Another book I've read in a similar vein. Devil Take The Hindmost : A History Of Financial Speculation
  11. Why would that be considered bias or something? Yeah, that only happens on Fox News. <_< This time conservative drones didn't need to go on Fox to be told that Romney won the debate, they just had to go to the other networks and listen to the talking heads crying about how Romney won the debate.
  12. It absolutely will be, and the other side will bring up the whole 'summer of recovery' from 2010. Cue the merry go round music.
  13. Sounds like a good time. In the 10 years I've been down here I've yet to attend a NC State, UNC, Duke, Wake Forest etc. football game. Plenty of basketball games, but never football. I need to change that this year. The tailgating at State games used to be legendary from I've heard, until there was a double homicide before a game about 8 years ago.
  14. I'm talking about R&D workers being laid off, not sales force. I have no clue what goes on there within the company. I've been here 10 years and this is the most layoffs I've seen in R&D, even between 2007-2009. Our CEO hasn't come out and specifically said the med device tax caused these layoffs, but nearly every time I've heard him speak about it the past year he has mentioned it and the challenges it will cause for the company. I've heard it will cost between $50-75 million next year in lost revenue, I know that alone well exceeds the R&D budget at my site. I haven't looked closely at the jobs bill, but with any piece of legislation it's not as simple as looking at one aspect of it as you know. Both sides attempt to slip things into legislation that having nothing to do with it's original intent. I've got to admit, you've got the liberal shill debating handbook down cold.
  15. R& 3rd quarter sales and revenue were higher, 4th quarter hasn't been released. FY '13 R&D budgets were unquestionably slashed at least in part due to the expected effects of this tax in FY'13 on the bottom line.
  16. I work for a large medical device company, our CEO has repeatedly stated the ill effects this tax will have on the industry, and more specifically on jobs at my company. I'm still here but there have been massive layoffs company wide over the past month, this looming tax and it's effect on the budget certainly were a factor.
  17. This. I'm in R&D as well for a large company, our budgets have shrunk in recent years. It will likely only get worse if Obamacare stays in place as medical device manufacturers are set to see increased taxes in 2013. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10000872396390444620104578012281306687070.html
  18. Actually, it wasn't ever real porn, more like a late night Cinemax soft porn type thing I'd find on Netflix, and it was only done because our wives were there and we wanted to rile them up. Come to think of it, I suppose I could stream real internet porn to the PS3 I have in there to the outside TV. Reminds me of a funny thing my friend told me he used to do in the VCR era. He'd have a porn tape playing on the VCR in their bedroom while the TV was tuned to the nightly news, after a few minutes of watching the news with his wife he'd hit the button the remote and the porn would come on. He'd play innocent and say that someone must be playing games down at channel 7. It worked a few times for him before she finally caught on. Solo or with a caddy?
  19. That may or may not have happened once or twice.
  20. It's been about a month, but our new screen porch is finally done. Looking forward to sitting out there tonight with the wife and some cold homebrew. The only downside is the wife now has a perch to watch over me at my man cave.
  21. For pure political theater I will agree it's been crappy, but the debates are still there to provide fodder for the drones on both sides. In terms of who wins I honestly don't care. We're fukced, or I should say more accurately that our kids and grandkids are, regardless of the outcome.
  22. Yep.. Just give it to 'em play at 2:02 PI at 2:15 Disgusting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbJ-2YaRLIc
  23. True, but I even hear it at work from other highly educated people who cry about paying 28% in taxes when Romney only paid 14%, but it's like talking to a wall.
  24. They haven't. As someone said earlier, it's all about the oil.
