  1. Don't beat around the bush guys, just ask chz nicely to change hers back and maybe she will.
  2. I find it funny that some of them feel that we will be easier to deal with when we suck. Sabres fans show up in NC regardless of the teams record, if anything I'd think that fan behavior would be worse when we are bad.
  3. Great post man. I'm hoping that if hell freezes over and the Sabres do finally hoist the Stanley Cup, that I can magically travel back to my youth by having the game matter more than it should. Just for one day.
  4. That's the name they have given him here in NC apparently Linda Ruffles
  5. Nice. Ted Darling was great. I remember Ted and Mike Robitaille calling a game.. Ted: And that puck was caught by a young man from Hamburg, NY. Roby: You know Ted, I'm surprised that more fans don't get hit right in the squash when those pucks go into the stands. This of course was long before the days of the nets above the glass at each end.
  6. One month after Valentine's day. Although I do suppose 1/14 would work better for all involved as wives and girlfriends who enthusiastically supported 1/14 would be more likely to get the royal treatment on 2/14.
  7. No worries, just wait until 3/14..... Steak & BJ Day!!
  8. I think Schopp said yesterday that Lindy as a player and coach combined has been involved in 54% of all the Sabres games ever played.
  9. For the USA / USSR game, I distinctly remember coming home from playing street hockey with my friends and my father telling me we had to watch the game that had already started. I also remember the Moskow Dynamo and the tense feeling surrounding that game because of all the cold war nonsense. It reminds me of the crappy Rush song "Heresy", but the lyrics always resonated with me as a child of the 70's/80's.
  10. Did you move there in time to make the Hickory Hops festival last year? I haven't been yet myself, but I hear that its a great beer festival.
  11. You didn't buy your peanuts from the juggler in the wheelchair? Yes indeed, my Dad would take my brother and I every year. Great times.
  12. I'm old enough to remember back to the start of Bowman years, which of course also allows me to remember Lindy as a player as well.
  13. I do have a source that I cannot reveal.
  14. It absolutely was not his call. I know this as fact.
  15. If it's Rolston though, hasn't he been using Lindy's system with the Amerks? Should we expect a wholesale system change?
  16. I was a week shy of my 26th birthday when Lindy was hired. Sheesh that was a different lifetime for me.
  17. I have always like Lindy, so yes I feel bad for him and his family. I'm happy as a Sabres fan for the opportunity to move this team forward.
  18. Not out of the question. Lindy just sounded so despondent last night, like he finally knew it was time to go.
  19. I agree with feeling no joy over this. I feel bad for Lindy, a great coach and I truly wish he could have realized his dream of bringing a cup to Buffalo. He sounded totally defeated last night after the game
  20. wow!! Breaking point reached. thank you Mr. Pegula
  21. Damn. Starting today, the Buffalo Sabres reason for existence, yada yada yada..
  22. Cool. Porcupine Tree / Steven Wilson are criminally unsung artists. Wilson's next solo album "The Raven That Refused To Sing" is due out next week. Also, it probably showed up on the PT/SW Pandora channel, but if not check out Blackfield, another Wilson side project. And if anyone actually pays attention to WGR's bumper music, I've heard them use this PT tune frequently.
