I just scored the best deal in my personal craft beer drinking history. I had lunch over near the craft beer shop that I normally frequent, so I decided to stop in to browse a bit. Right by the front door was a stack of Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye bombers for $1.49 each. I snapped up a case of 12 for $19. Normally this would have set me back somewhere in the neighborhood of $70-$80. My mom gets upset if we do anything more than flowers for her on Mother's Day so that makes it very easy for me every year. I'm trying to figure out what to do for my wife from the kids. It was her birthday last weekend and I missed it due to taking our son camping, so I need to hit one out of the park for Mother's Day.

Fargin Brad Park....and having to hear Canes fans yak for the next year after '06 are my two worst memories. These beers are the next craft beer fad it seems...many years ago it was the monster double IPA's, then black IPA's were the rage for awhile, now we get these session IPA's. I've had the offerings from Founders, Lagunitas and Terrapin. I enjoy them all, but I understand the purists getting irked by including IPA in the name. A sub 5%abv beer cannot be classified an IPA by BJCP guidelines, and they have too many IBU's to be an APA. I just call them "beers that I enjoy"

While I don't agree with it bring immoral, I agree with this. We've traveled too far down the road, the die has been cast etc.... This isn't directed at weave, but I'm not sure where the notion of purposely tanking got laid on the players even a little bit. When the tank became obvious to all, I dont remember a single tank proponent here advocating a player led race to the bottom. The putrid display this season was clearly accomplished through roster manipulation only.

Yep, the goal is a Cup in Buffalo. Eyes on the prize people. Over are the days of feel good rides to quasi- respectability. Let's build a solid foundation on the back of back to back tanks. The Islanders tank will just be gravy..and bring an embarrassment of riches to the organ-eye-zation. Boy I hope you're right, but i view the Isels as a somewhat likely bottom 5 team next year and the Sabres as a dead cinch lock for the bottom 5.

My parents are in town on their way back to Buffalo from Florida, so I'm going to leave work early today to pick up some fresh haddock from the local seafood market and cook up a classic WNY fish fry for the family. We did one at the start of lent and I've still got it all these years after retiring from my fry cook career at one of WNY's top fish fry establishments.
