  1. It's as simple as this. Unless you deliver Brady a career ending injury, you can expect the same results until he retires.
  2. Big game. I'm going to do an informal poll of fans sitting near me to guage their knowledge of the benefits of tanking this year.
  3. Whoa...and you thought the Sabres looked bad last night?
  4. Canes are really bad. Boychuk paying dividends for Isles..lets go canes!
  5. Yep, all tank talk from both sides if kept here makes for a better board IMO.
  6. I promise you I despise the Canes and their fans more than you do. However, the only way I can imagine loathing that team more than I already do is if McDavid or Eichel are wearing their colors. As chief Raleigh pillager and baby eater I grant you special dispensation to root for the Canes in this home and home with the Islanders and still hate them later.
  7. Will it be the Tampa Conacher skating on their top line or the Conacher who was let go from two bad teams in the last year? We shall see. They very well may be, but it's still the Islanders we are talking about. They've been trying to improve for a long time now without much success...let's hope the trend continues.
  8. Sigh. This is why the tank discussion needs it's own thread with the same stuff coming up over and over. Yes STH's suffer the most and no fan would blame any of them for bailing, but in a strong hockey market like Buffalo it doesn't seem to matter because most aren't bailing even in the face of another horrible season. What if Gus, Risto, Zadorov, Reinhart, Armia Grigs etc..get concussed or hurt? It's a risk every single NHL player takes when stepping onto the ice to play. In other words, that type of "if" is a lousy argument to not hope for a generational talent to come your way. The players do play to win..ALWAYS. and finally..the not real fans bit...you hit them all.
  9. I do not own nor would I ever wear Canes gear. I do have a red Bills polo shirt that I might wear though. Not sure yet if I'll go or not, if my neighbor gets tickets I probably will.

  11. I do the same thing. There is a mostly empty lab right around the corner from my office..I've let many rip in there to linger.
  12. i might actually go to the game, wear my red and root for the Canes!
  13. In the spirit of keeping the debate out of the game threads I'll respond here. Yep, and look at all the changes GMTM made to improve the roster from the end of last season. Did anyone really expect him to do that much? Could he have possibly done any more than he did? That this team is going to struggle for a few years no matter what shouldn't be news to anyone. This is precisely why the different shades of bad make no difference to me in terms of my overall fan satisfaction, and being really bad makes a huge difference in terms of giving us the best chance of immensely improving our team in the future. Thus I'm pro-tank. To you it's not better, and I respect and understand that. For many of us mediocrity is actually worse because it's pretty much what we've always done, and what we've always done has delivered exactly squat in terms of why we all follow this team. This I agree with. It serves no purpose to be a downer for other Sabres fans in the game day threads, it's like trolling your own fan base.. It was the first game, but hopefully the tank debate can stay out of those threads as the season goes on, especially during the game.
  14. The Canes went back to pronouncing it the Buffalo way about midway through last season.
  15. Yep, and if we don't land McEichel but one or both lands on other teams in our division then it knocks us down a peg on the rebuild by default.
  16. It's not an edict but rather a proposed gentlemen's agreement with the aim of not hindering other Sabres' fans enjoyment of the board by cluttering threads with the same arguments rehashed ad nauseum. You might want to consider it yourself the next time you come up with more meddling "evidence".
  17. Yes. I'll have no problem following this approach in the GDT's for the games that I'll actually watch. No Center Ice for me this year. Does anyone know if Direct TV is having a free preview for the first week of the season?
  18. I'll root for Satan if it helps the Sabres in the quest for McEichel.
  19. Let's get this straight. Islanders winning games this year = bad for the Sabres. Canes losing this year = bad for the Sabres even if you aren't pro Sabres tank. Unless of course you'd rather see McEichel in our conference rather than out west.
