    Chicago has a 25-minute per game top defensive pairing that has played together for a decade. That is a major difference between the two teams.

    I can't drink just yet. This is my first hockey game of the day... going to the Preds game this evening. My beer of choice at Preds games = Fat Tire.

    Chicago pushed the rule book as much as any team in the league. Watch how close they are to too many men on just about every change. Watch how often Toews throws picks to open up space for his teammates in the offensive zone. Smart if you can get away with it and Chicago almost always does.

    The Preds d-men are all signed long-term except for Seth Jones. And, all besides Shea Weber have very favorable cap hits. The Hawks pretty much only play 4 d-men and 3 lines. That works great as long as everyone stays healthy.

    We've lost 7 straight to Chicago. And, I hate that ###### team. If we win today, I shall be pleased.

    David Poile keeps saying he won't trade Seth Jones. And, Weber, Josi, and Matty Ekholm aren't going anywhere. He might consider moving Ryan Ellis (?), but he is a right-shot guy. We could probably get Anthony Bitetto on the cheap (left-shot)... but he isn't great in his own zone from what little I've seen of him.

    I'd much rather trade for an offensively-minded left-shot defenseman who isn't slow as dirt like Franson. Center isn't a need right now.

    They're dead last in the West and last in the league in goals scored by an enormous margin. They have to make a change. No way a team with Perry, Getzlaf, Kessler and company should only have 56 goals scored 30 games into the season.
