Yeah, they were all about keeping every team in the playoff race deep into the season. I get it, but I just think it gets to a point where luck is more deterministic than skill, which is what I don't like to see.

Two straight wins and we're still 2nd from the bottom of the NHL standings, yet fewer than 10 points out of a playoff spot. I'm not sure I like how the league standings have become condensed by the 3-point games coupled with the defensive style of play that rewards lucky bounces over skill. But, that's life in Bettman's vision of the NHL.

They usually get out to a lead then fall into a defensive shell (neutral zone trap). When they don't have a lead it is a different story.

I really like Matt Dumba's offensive game. To me he seems like a guy who is stuck in the wrong (highly defensive) system.
