I've watched the Avs quite a bit and Grigo has mostly been used as a defensive "stopper" of sorts on the 3rd/4th line. He has the size to do okay in that role if he embraces it. But, obviously that's not what was envisioned of a first round pick. But, this trade was all about Zadorov and Compher. I'd still take Grigo over Hodgson any day!

Good post. My Dad used to do marketing research for the Knox's back in the 70s and 80s (some of you may remember doing surveys about the Sabres in exchange for swag). And, one of the findings of the surveys was fans at that time really enjoyed fighting. And, roughly 3% of fans preferred fighting to scoring. If fighting is so bad for the game, why do fans get up out of their seats and cheer when they see a fight?

Interesting. Bickell is overpriced at $4 million per season as a part-time player. He's been a healthy scratch as of late.

To score 50 in today's game is quite a feat. If he played in the early 90s he'd probably put in 80 or 90 in a season.

I like Pysyk just fine. It's just that I think a lot of folks around here overvalue him. He is a solid defender, but certainly not "untouchable." We have one "untouchable" defenseman and that is Risto.
