Gilmore got beat for a long pass on 3rd and long, got a holding call on a play that should have ended the drive, and missed an easy tackle on a 3rd and long screen play allowing the Jets another first down... oof.

The rational decision was the join the Preds last year for the stretch run and playoffs. His contract would have kicked in one year sooner (read: he'd already be rich) and he would burn a year of his rookie contract putting himself one year closer to a potentially bigger pay day. I've never seen David Poille as mad as he was when Vessey spurned him. That (and based on what I've heard down here) leads me to believe Vesey pulled a classic bait-and-switch with the Preds. Personally I hope this kid struggles mightily with the Rangers.

Terry Crisp was the TV color commentator down here in Nashville for years, but now does the between-period studio show. Stu Grimson is now the color commentator.

We'd have to eat some of Kane's salary, I think. The Ducks are somewhat cap constrained since they still have to sign a few guys.

Fowler for Evander Kane is still floating around out there as a rumor. The Ducks just signed defenseman Korbinian Holzer to a one-way contract. Yeah, that might even be better. You just need to start really early and bring a lot of water + food. Plus, pay attention to where you need to be on Sawtooth (can be deadly).

Werd. Chad Johnson was 22-16 with a very solid .920 save % and a 2.36 GAA. Nilsson's career .900 save % doesn't exactly inspire confidence. I'm not a fan of Murray's goaltending moves in general.

We obviously know what Murray values in a goaltender. Size. Nilsson is huge (like Lehner). Not very happy with the Johnson for Nilsson change in goal. Hopefully Lehner stays healthy.
