  1. Nothing better than watching the Patriots lose at home.
  2. Anyone here ever been the Cali, Columbia? ...figured the random(er) thread would be the appropriate place to ask such a thing
  3. Too bad the Grambing vs. Tulane game won't be televised. Guess I'll have to watch Florida State vs. Alabama instead. ;)
  4. Cal at UNC should be a fairly even matchup. ...Better than watching a ranked team blowout a small conference cupcake opponent.
  5. I'd like to see us grab a veteran WR who gets cut from another team as a cap casualty. Victor Cruz got cut by the bears, but he can't run anymore. Too many injuries. Gotta be someone else out there. Also, someone at TBD stole my avatar.
  6. WVU vs. Virginia Tech playing at FedEx Field on Sunday. Go Hokies!
  7. Because you're a dedicated employee! ...although to be fair, you are on Sabrespace instead of working. :D
  8. I don't think Whaley was entirely terrible as a talent evaluator. Every GM will miss on some. I think he struggled with assigning value to players are sticking to it. Watkins was probably deserving of being the #1 rated WR in his draft class. But, everyone knew that was the deeepest WR class in years. So, giving up a first round picks to move up a few spots made no sense from a value standpoint. Dareus and Glenn and Hughes are good players. But, that doesn't mean you back up the Brinx truck to pay them elite NFL money. IMHO, Whaley needed a better handle of how much each player was/is worth... and a better ability to walk away from his mistakes (see EJ Manuel). If you assume the draft is a crapshoot and free agents don't really want to come to Buffalo (given many factors), then the best way to get better is to have a lot of draft picks. Whaley gave away picks. Bean is stockpiling them. I like the latter strategy much better.
  9. My take is the Darby move made sense. He is a man-to-man corner and McD runs a zone system. Different skills set needed at CB. Plus McD wants "character guys" and maybe Darby wasn't that (?). The Watkins move is a little more puzzling. I'm guessing it was about cap economics (e.g., future salary demands). Or, maybe Sammy wanted out and/or let it be known he was gone after his contract expired? Attitude problem? ...we'll probably never know.
  10. Winter is here! Daenerys got about 6 inches of Snow last night.
  11. I like the GM and coach hire. But, two decades of history tells me this roster isn't a playoff roster. It'll take a couple of years to fix things. First order of business is clear cap space and stockpile draft picks. Bean seems to be doing that. IMHO, the monster contracts of Marcell Dareus and Cordy Glenn are two that Bean needs to seriously consider ridding himself of (either one or the other, probably not both).
  12. For a team this crappy, the Bills have no business having a payroll that is above league average.
  13. I think Jamie is going to strangle Cersi to death.
  14. Jamie will kill Cersi to create "Lightbringer" ... but I think "Lightbringer" will be a flaming hand to replace his stump. Who knows. I just can't imagine there isn't an unexpected twist or two that'll be unveiled in the last season.
  15. Who is Azor Ahai? I'm going with Jaime Lannister. At the end of Season 4, Episode 10 there is a big clue... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ohahqofAkE
  16. Dareus has a cap hit of around $16.4 million. That's the 24th highest in the entire NFL (all players) and 7th highest among defensive players (at DT only Ndamukong Suh is higher). Cordy Glenn has an absurd cap hit of $14.2 million. That's second highest among all offensive lineman in the NFL (behind only Trent William). Throwing huge money at good-but-not-great players (or guys who can't stay on the field) kills your ability to sign depth players. Hopefully Bean will do better than Whaley with managing contracts.
  17. Dareus has one of the worst contracts in the NFL. That alone should get a GM fired. ...This team is going to have a hell of a time putting points on the board. Without a passing game it shouldn't be hard to stop McCoy.
  18. I don't think the Bills defense will be all the bad this year. But, our offense is offensive.
  19. This event is a money grab, nothing more. Mayweather is a boxer, McGregor is an MMA fighter. Two totally different things. First professional fight against a guy who is 49-0? ...money grab.
  20. Ducasse is brutal. He plays like he's wearing roller skates. And, Mills is almost as awful. He is a human turnstile in pass protection.
  21. Stupid fans complained that there was too much female nudity. :(
  22. http://www.theonion.com/article/diehard-8-year-old-buffalo-bills-fan-showing-early-56727 :)
  23. A lot of people think Jon will ride Rhaegal since Jon is (secretly) a Targaryen and the dragon is named after his father. The scene with Jon touching the dragon would seem to prophesize that. Some others think Brandon will "woog" into Rhaegal and do his thing. Alternatively, if Daenerys dies (which I actually think will happen), Jon could ride Drogon. ...Guess we'll find out next season!
  24. Boldin looked really immobile out there. Probably for the best. But, we have no WR depth yet again. I'm not a fan of Andre Holmes. And, Brandon Tate and Philly Brown aren't going to worry too many defensive coordinators. I assume we'll try to grab someone who gets cut due to cap reasons.
  25. For years, the Internet has been abuzz about who gets to ride the third dragon. ...now we know.
