  1. WADR, how long does it take to diagnose that there is a problem and make changes? 5 years? 10?
  2. Parros went for the choke hold at the end of the fight. He's been watching too much MMA, I think.
  3. This has nothing to do with anything, but what the hell kind of line is Gerbe, McCormick, and Scott? If you're going to have a checking line, have a checking line... don't put Gerbe on it.
  4. Shots 11-1 so far this period in favor of the visitors... On the game we're being outshot 31-17... by the worst team in the league... although we may soon be the worst team in the league...
  5. 3 straight goals for Florida... the worst team in the league... playing on the road...
  6. I was thinking that. He looks 100x times better than he did last year so far this season. BTW - whomever said that Miller is kicking rebounds all over the place is right.
  7. That puts Stafford at -7 on the year (team worst for a forward) with zero goals... George Parros has more goals on the year than Drew. :P
  8. Myers is actually has an even +/- in this game. Ennis, Stafford, and Foligno are all -2.
  9. Power Play... time for Vanek to get his 20th point of the year...
  10. Parros - Scott! (first fight of the year for Parros) I think Parros tried to choke him out at the end of the fight.
  11. We need a goal from a German. (a German not named Marcel Goc)
  12. Not testy. Some folks just can't handle differences of opinion. :)
  13. I'm wearing a Tyler Myers jersey today. One of those reverse-mojo kind of things.
  14. I haven't said a word about Vanek. He is not a soft player at all and I personally think he is our only true "superstar" and in that sense perhaps a fitting choice to wear a "C." It was Vanek who IMHO carried the team to victory over the Bruins (plus Miller). I do consider Pommer to be (arguably, of course) the softest captain in the league. 4 of the 7 on your list have won Cups (Toews, Gionta, Zetterberg, Crosby) and Koivu captained the Finns to a gold medal... the only one I consider a relatively soft player on the list of 7 is Sedin, and he is capable of winning scoring titles. My point is you can very easily separate good player from good leader. Pommer is a good player, no one is disputing that. But, I am openly questioning whether he is the best possible on-ice leader for this team, given that this has been a lousy team for the past few years. And, I vehemently disagree that on-ice leadership, as exemplified by the Captain, doesn't matter. As for locker room leadership, you're completely right, none of us can really speak to that... maybe Pommer is the glue that keeps the room together...
