  1. Unfortunately, I don't have a dvr (although I do have SiriusXM). I watch out-of-town feeds all the time and I seriously do not find any other announcer nearly as annoying. It's the fake over-excitement at more-or-less trivial plays. And, the stupid catch phrases "biscuit in the basket," "hey, hey, what do you say." Sooooooooooooooo annoying.
  2. No. According to Forslund it was the greatest save of all-time. Urgh, I hate having the 'canes feed.
  3. I hate when we play the Hurricanes because CenterIce usually only offers the 'canes feed and they have the most annoying announcing team in the entire NHL. ...gonna have to mute it the whole game...
  4. This hit just got 4 games... way, way worse if you ask me... repeat offender status must carry a ton of weight... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypW1CeNCmt0
  5. So a flying elbow to the head at full speed that leaves a player with a concussion is worth 4 games, but a shove to the lower back that puts a guy into the boards is worth 5? ...Repeat offender status apparently is worth a lot of games.
  6. Lost in the endless discussion of Kaleta/Richards (does it really matter if we lose Patty for a couple of games?) is the fact that we gave up no even strength goals for the first time in forever. I know the Rangers offense is anemic, but that was a solid defensive effort for our boys. If you recall, we were giving up 4 per game pretty much every night during the last month of Lindy. So, this is a huge improvement defensively. We've also gotten goals from Drew, Gerbe, and (*gulp*) Hecht the past couple of games. Good to see.
  7. Can we bring in a power play expert consultant-type of person without changing the current coaching staff? Do league rules allow for such a thing?
  8. As a general statement (this incident aside), there is absolutely no doubt in my mind guys know how to get calls by taking a hit along the boards to get a boarding call. I've seen Kaleta himself do it. These guys dive in front of 100 MPH slap shots. They dive at pucks knowing they'll go right into the goal post. They dive at pucks on the offensive end knowing they'll slam into the boards. But a guy who wears a visor wouldn't take one for the team when they need a power play? Regarding the suspension Kaleta gets, Shanny just gave 4 games to the Flyers player Zolnierczyk who took a full speed run, jumped off his skates, and elbowed a player in the head concussing him. This Kaleta hit is nowhere near as dangerous as that one. Not even close. This is just catching a guy in a bad position. If it was Pommer and not Kaleta, I doubt it would get any sort of suspension. As it is, one or two game based on reputation.
  9. The hit by the Flyers' Zolnierczyk was far dirtier. And, we've all seen tons of hits that were way worse than Kaleta's shove. That said, Kaleta's reputation will work against him, and the league office being located in New York certainly doesn't help. My guess is he gets one game.
  10. No doubt the Kaleta penalty was a game-changer. But, the Rangers were handing us power plays down the stretch and we couldn't do anything with them. Rolston needs to do something with the power play because it is wretched.
  11. Rangers scored on their 5-on-3 and we passed it back and forth on the perimeter on ours. That was the difference. Good effort though.
  12. I got a baaaad feeling about this one. It is Lundquist tonight and not some backup.
  13. We lost every OT faceoff. That was an exciting extra 5 minutes!
  14. Put Ott out there on the power play. He plays gay porn hard.
  15. Ott leads the NHL in hits too. On twitter it was mentioned that Ott is a sort of de facto locker room leader. There is no doubt he should have a letter on his jersey.
