We've had bad seasons before, but this team is about to go 7 years without winning a playoff series. And, we can't even use injuries as an excuse. If that isn't evidence that "the core" is rotten then I don't know what is. Congrats, Darcy. You managed to build the shittiest team in the NHL.

Anything longer than a paragraph and I'm not reading it. If I wanted to read a novel, I wouldn't come to this forum. ;) I actually feel bad for Lindy. He gave everything he had to try to get this collection of feces to play well and he could not do it. No coach on the planet could get this group of drifters to play as a cohesive unit. This team is bad... really bad...

There was some division among the fans/posters about whether firing Ruff was a wise move (most thought it was time), but I don't think there is a single person on this board who thinks Darcy should keep him job.

Watch Pommer's "effort" on the second Philly goal. He doesn't even attempt to stop the pass coming across. He doesn't lay out, which is pretty much how you play a 2-on-1 these days. Just waves at the puck. Where is the effort from the guy with the "C" on this jersey?

Every team in the league dares us to dump the puck in by lining up across the blue line. And, when we do dump it in we can't retrieve the puck because we're too soft up front. You gotta go in after the puck like a freight train and put some pressure on the defense. Frustrating to watch the half-assed forecheck effort.

Has Pommer ever dove for a puck? Ever? That puck was on the goal line. If ever there was a time to take a header into the net, that was it.
