  1. We looked like ###### on that power play... ...and now a goal against. Argh. :wallbash:
  2. Tampa has shaky goaltending... we need to get some more shots on net...
  3. Gudas is a cheese, I thought. :P
  4. How about shooting the ###### puck instead of passing it around endlessly?
  5. Why does Kaleta get the penalty there?
  6. CenterIce has both the Buffalo and Tampa feeds, which is nice. But, the two feeds are out of synch by about 3 seconds. The Buffalo feed is ahead.
  7. Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie 6m "@DarrenDreger: Expect Tampa Bay to announce Jon Cooper as head coach as early as tomorrow. #TSN"
  8. I'm not a Miller hater. I generally like him. But, on cap hit he is the 5th highest paid goaltender (Rinne, Lundqvist, Price, Ward). For equal $, I take Miller over Fleury... but for a $1.25 million difference I'd probably take Fleury and spend that $1.25 elsewhere.
  9. The Pens haven't overpaid their role players like the Sabres have. They have Crosby and Makin at $8.7 mil. Fleury, Neal, and Martin at $5. Everyone else below $5. Kunitz at $3.7 and Letang at $3.5 are steals IMHO. In contrast, we've overpaid for guys like Stafford ($4), Leino ($4.5), Myers ($5.5) and Leo ($3)... and maybe even Pommer ($5.3)... even Miller at $6.25 is questionable given production. Heck, we're giving healthy scratches to $4 and $5 million cap hit players. That is a killer. Our GM isn't placing his bets on the right horses... A big Sabres problem, as I see it, is our high priced "stars" aren't as good as the "stars" from other teams. Vanek, Pommer and Miller vs. Crosby, Malkin, and Fleury? Ugh. Vanek, Pommer, Miller, and Myers vs. Towes, Kane, Keith, and Seabrook? Oof.
  10. Brendan Morrow (not the defensive prospect Morrow they got back) is a pending UFA and wasn't going to resign with the Stars. But this trade is a little odd given that the Stars are sitting in a playoff position right now and they went out and signed some older players (Whitney, Jagr) in the off-season. Not sure what the heck is going on in Dallas these days...
  11. This is fairly awesome... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Mc9vwV2FdM
  12. Yep. Plus, I'm pretty sure Boyes skated with Paul Kariya and Keith Tkachuk when he had his big season with St. Louis.
  13. With the Sedin twins, how in the world is Vancouver tied with us for the worst power play in the entire NHL? Craziness.
  14. I defer to Herm on this matter... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W42iiCcFbxE
  15. I've always liked Ville, if only because I respect guys who show up in the playoffs. The fans were pretty down on him the first half of last year because he wasn't scoring a lot. But in his defense, he was adjusting to a completely new system, was tried at center (failure), then was often used by Lindy in 3rd and 4th line roles. Given his skill set, Leino needs to be on the second line where he is now. With good linemates, he can produce. We're a better team with Leino back and with Kaleta in the lineup. And, with Ville now on the second line, Stafford is absolutely expendable. I'm hopeful Darcy can get a defensively-skilled center back for Stafford (and/or Leo).
  16. The Oompa Loompas have expressed an interest. They want to use him for creaming and sugaring. Seriously though, I see Gerbe as kind of a "tweener." At his size, a player really needs to be highly skilled and play a top-6 forward role (e.g., St. Louis). But Gerbe doesn't appear to be skilled enough to regularly play on a top two (scoring) line... and obviously he isn't ideally suited to a checking line role. Tough sell. But, he does have speed, a nice shot, and is tenacious. For the right price, he has value.
  17. Who is this... Gary?
  18. At the Preds - Blue Jackets game... anyone ever see a 5 minute major penalty for interference?
  19. The Bruins (the team of former NHL disciplinarian Colin Campbell's son) and Rangers (the team where the league offices are located) seem to get more breaks than other teams when it comes to disciplinary matters. I think in general big stars get more breaks than role players. But, that isn't necessarily a bad thing for the league.
  20. 18 years is quite a dog life. As long as you gave him the best doggie life possible, then all is right with the universe. That said, my (two) dogs are both three and to even think of the day one or both go saddens me... hang in there...
  21. There is no way on God's green earth the Coyotes are trading OEL. Guy is a future Norris trophy winner and the best player on the Coyotes. I'll just have to assume most on this forum don't watch Phoenix much...
