  1. Argh. Not executing on the odd man rushes.
  2. Uh, who exactly is "just realizing" that Grant Clitsome plays in the league? Been watching him for years... and the name has been funny for years! My cable system did this. ######. Game is on at 11:30 EST (10:30 CST). I'm having to watch the online stream of MSG.
  3. The Sabres need to trade for him. That jersey would be a "must buy."
  4. I like this team so much better post-Pommer.
  5. 2-1 Isles over Flyers at the end of 2.
  6. If you're Thomas Vanek... never pass to Drew. :P
  7. Darren Puppa! (pretty much I just wanted to say/type "Puppa")
  8. Sent my dogs to doggie day care today just so they'll sleep through the game. Gave up my Preds tickets for tonight. Bought some Molson Canadians (not as easy to find as you might think in Tennessee). A win tonight and this playoff race gets interesting. Go Sabres!
  9. It is a well-established truth that Buffalonians get uber-defensive at any perceived slight of their city, its inhabitants, or its institutions. As if merely suggesting that there is an alternative to negativity and cynicism is somehow sacriledge. So, the tenor of this thread is in some sense quite predictable. Ott is merely pointing out (correctly IMHO) that Buffalo has one of the worst home crowd "advantages" in the league. His statement was relative - it was comparative. All of these guys have played in every other city, so it isn't hard for players to see/hear that this is the case.
  10. You have people openly "booing" when the Sabres win games on this board... have folks cheering for draft picks rather than wanting the team to make the playoffs. I've said it before and I'll say it again: there is a noticeable chronic negativity in Buffalo that you don't necessarily see in other parts of the country. Buffalonians get ultra-defensive with the mere suggestion, but... Also, as a point of clarification, I don't think Ott is saying "booing" in general is bad. He's speaking to the amount of booing in Buffalo relative to other hockey markets. I've been to at least 10 other arenas and I have to agree with Otter.
  11. I watched the whole thing. Everybody loves dancing potatoes!
  12. Isles are at Boston on Thursday... tough game for them there... none of this matters though unless we handle the Jets on Tuesday!
  13. Leaves win! Leaves win!
  14. Rangers tied it up then the Leaves came back to take a 4-3 lead. Exciting game!
  15. 3-1 Leaves over the Rangers at the end of 2 periods.
  16. Go Leaves Go. (Up 1-0 over the Rangers in the first)
  17. Take off, you hoser! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tonXBiPY93s
  18. Found a picture to go along with my new screen name. Who knew they created a Buffalo Sabres Mr. Potato Head a few years back?! :D
  19. Do they boo the home team much in Vancouver? Just wondering. (I've always wanted to go to a Canucks game)
  20. Exactly. This is why I have mixed feelings about Darcy's recent moves. We lost centers Briere, Drury, Timmy, Goose, and Roy (am I forgetting anyone) over a 5-6 year span. In isolation, that is all fine. But, Darcy didn't bother to bring anyone in who could play center to replace those guys until the end of last year (CoHo). He just kept signing winger after winger. So, now he is fixing the lack of centers, which is good - drafting Girgs, and Grigo and picking up Larsson were nice moves. But, he also is fixing a problem that he himself created.
  21. It doesn't happen in Nashville. But, IMHO there is a difference in the collective psyche of different cities/regions. Such a difference would perhaps be hard for those who've never lived in or outside of WNY to recognize.
  22. Isles play the Rangers this week too, so there is the potential to pick up one or more points on someone.
