  1. Pretty much nothing is a penalty in this game.
  2. Reimer choking? He looks shaky...
  3. Stupid Bruins fans are giving the Leaves time to regroup...
  4. Noooooooooooooo!!! :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:
  5. Uh oh.... 4-3 Leaves now...
  6. That was a really dirty hit by Lucic... no call? Oof.
  7. Leafs opening up a can on the Bruins in the third. Now 4-1.
  8. Bruins - Leafs game is brilliant. War on skates. I can't root for the Bruins... Go Leaves Go!
  9. Minnesota down to Goalie #3 Darcy Kemper now. They're in big trouble.
  10. Not sure where he stacks up against other top guys in the league - probably well outside of the top-10 overall defensemen - but The Hoff is clearly the Sabres' best all-around defenseman. For only a $4 million cap hit, I really like that signing (and give Pegula and company credit for making it happen).
  11. Every game in this series has been an absolute war on skates. I've said it before and I'll say it again... some players are built for playoff hockey and others aren't.
  12. Big win for the Islanders over the Penguins. Came back from 3-1 down. I'm glad they won't be swept... hopefully they can make a series out of it!
  13. Hornqvist (aka "Horny") is all heart. He isn't overly big, but stands in front of the net and takes a tremendous amount of punishment. As a result he scores a lot of "dirty" goals off of tipped shots and rebounds. For you stats lovers, Horny has been Nashville's top Corsi player for four consecutive years. BTW - I saw him several times over at Vanderbilt rehab in February working on his knee (MCL sprain?).
  14. I agree with the bolded point. There is no reason every single player on the roster has to be young in order for the team to "rebuild" for the future. The margin between playoff and non-playoff teams is pretty thin so it doesn't take much to make a dramatic improvement year-over-year. I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other on Miller, but proven goal scorers (Vanek) are few and far between in this league. Getting rid of the only guy on the roster who can consistently put the puck in the net is a big risk IMHO. If I were in charge, I'd give him the "C" and try to convince him to stick around. On another note, fixing the league's second worst power play and not leading the league in short-handed goals against is as important as any move that can be made this off-season. Who was in charge of the power play? Adams?
  15. 5 year contract extension for Preds forward Patrick Hornqvist: http://www.tennessea...agree-extension
  16. "Rebuilding" with the status quo GM presiding over the rebuild makes sense when you have a reasonably successful team that gets old or injured or otherwise deteriorates. But, this team was never successful under Darcy with the exception of two post-lockout years (and the late-90s when the team was largely built by his predecessor). How Pegula/Black could still think that Darcy is the best possible GM out of the universe of potential candidates to build a Stanley Cup contending team is mind-boggling....
  17. Wild hold on for the win. I feel bad for Columbus. Minnesota backed into the playoffs by the slimmest of margins.
  18. I give the Avs credit for playing hard in a meaningless game. They just can't get one by Backstrom. Less than a minute left now. Net is empty.
  19. #8 pick for the Sabres. C'mon Avs... we want the #14 pick too! (pending lottery weirdness)
  20. Jackets with the empty netter! That arena is absolutely electric. 13:50 left in Colorado. Still 2-1 Wild. C'mon, Avs!
  21. Goal Blue Jackets!!! 2-1 Jackets with 4 minutes left.
  22. As a Preds season ticket holder, I'm rooting for the Preds to get a better draft pick as well as the Sabres... and the Columbus fans are long suffering. It'd be great if they got into the playoffs. That arena is rocking!
  23. Goal, Jackets!!!
  24. Wild up by one, Columbus down by one. Not looking good in the West. Still as long as Detroit wins, the Wild will finish 8th and have to face Chicago in the first round. Detroit now up 2-0 in Dallas in the 3rd period.
