I always figured Bruins players could do whatever they wanted to without league retribution because Colin Campbell was NHL head sheriff (and his son, of course, plays for the Bruins). I thought that might stop this year with a new head disciplinarian. But, Shanny has continued to turn a blind eye to the Bruin's on-ice thuggery. In a philosophical sense, I think the league needs to figure out whether they want a bunch of 6'4 240 lb. guys thugging it up and clogging up shooting lanes in 2-1 or 1-0 games, or whether they want to reward speed, creativity, and skill. I'm sure opinions will differ on the matter, but it seems to me that we're right back where we were pre-2005.

I keep wanting to be optimistic... we have some good young players, some trade-able assets, a ton of draft picks over the next three years.... then I remember we still have Darcy and a sense of hopelessness sets in. :blush:

The Hawks GM was raised in Williamsville. That's a good reason to root for the Hawks. ...although the Bruins owner was born and raised in Buffalo, so I guess you could make the same argument for the Bruins. ;)

The league is happy because the series will go at least 6 games now. Great point shot by Seabrook for the game winner.

I think he has a no movement clause. They'd probably want to move Hossa, but I doubt Buffalo would want him. Bickell is a guy I'd love to have. He is a pending UFA.

:P Crawford looks terrible. The only positive for us is if the Hawks lose the series maybe Chicago will become a potential trade partner for Miller.

If the Coyotes end up moving to Seattle they'll have to play in Key Arena for a couple of years and Key has the same sort of skewed rink setup. Really odd looking.
