Come one, come all for the Sabres vs. Preds down here in Nashville on Thursday, March 27th. I'll buy 6 or 8 tickets behind the Sabres bench if I can. Last time the Sabres were down here there was a pretty big contingent of Sabres fans... we had a lot of fun pre-gaming with all sorts of random Sabres fans!

IMHO, the best place for him to stop and get a drink... or ten... is Dewey Beach, DE, which is between OC and Cape May. Full on debauchery all summer long.

Soccer (Football) ~ Everything About The Beautiful Game

Bale is pretty nasty coming off the right side... but I actually like this move a lot for Spurs. They have a ton of cash to go get some depth now. -
I actually like the strategy of resting all of the starters yesterday. We're pretty thin at certain positions (as we all know), so there was no reason to take a chance on someone getting hurt prior the the regular season.

I figured someone must like it! Vegan beer (all malt, no hops) is not for me.

Worse than Butternuts Porkslap Ale?

Southern Tier has started showing up in bars and restaurants down here as of late. A couple of the local TN breweries on the list that I highly recommend: Calfkiller (very good beers) and Yazoo. A few of the brewers I've never heard of (Czann's, BFM, Good People). I'm looking forward to trying some new ones!

I'm heading to the Nashville Predator's craft beer festival tomorrow! http://predators.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=90165 :clapping:

Complaint: Unless you are watching your favorite team, pre-season football is supremely boring to watch on TV.

Been a while since our system has been this stocked with legitimate prospects, although many of them are still very young. And, we have a bunch more picks again this year, which we can add to if/when we trade Miller and Vanek. As much as I despise Darcy, the new strategy of stockpiling picks and building from within just might pay off in a few years.

Hello from Istanbul. It is early Saturday morning here... but STILL a fantastic Friday.
-
I'd say there is about a .00001% chance of Ovie coming to Buffalo within the next, say, 5 years or so.
-
Yes, trade was Tallinder for Riley Boychuk. (?) I guess they want to reunite Hank and Myers.
-
I'm pretty sure the Blues don't have the space to take on both Vanek and Miller (Pietrangelo and Stewart still need to be resigned as RFAs). I think it'd have to be one or the other - probably Miller - with two big contracts coming back in return.
-
He and The Hoff are supposedly good friends. I think the two play well together on the ice.

Honest question: Why hasn't Darcy re-signed CoHo yet? What is he waiting for?
-
I don't disagree. Even the most biased Darcy supporter should be able to look at that list of D-men and see that it is pure shiite. IMHO, allowing guys the time to develop until they are ready for the NHL would have been a better strategy than fast-tracking a bunch of kids onto the roster and watching them get smoked.

We only have 7 NHL-level defensemen right now. Here are the defensemen on the roster & their age: The Hoff (31) Sulzer (29) Weber (25) McBain (25) Myers (23) Ruhwedel (23) Pysyk (21) Other possibilities are: McNabb (22) Ristolainen (18) That's a very young group as it is. Without Sulzer, there aren't enough defense prospects in Rochester to field an NHL-level lineup with the injuries that will most certainly happen during the year. Sulzer serves a short-term need as cheap injury insurance. As it is, we could be dressing 3-4 rookies on defense (Rudy, Pysyk, Risto, McNabb) pending injuries.
-
Sulzer is veteran depth and his contract is dirt cheap. I have no problem keeping him around as a 7th/8th defenseman.
-
No one expected a big splash in free agency this year, but we have painfully little depth across the board. I'm all for a youth movement, but a couple of veteran depth signings, guys who can bring some leadership to help the young guys develop, makes some sense. http://capgeek.com/free-agents/

Will you complete my training?!

This is an oldie, but still a goodie: http://gossipy.co/sportsnews/terry-pegulas-daughter-thinks-the-sabres-are-really-bad

Darcy worked the phones all day and finally got his man. Welcome, Drew Bagnall! :P
-
On paper, this is a really bad team: http://capgeek.com/sabres/ Remove Vanek and Miller and we're at the bottom of the league in payroll and clearly playing for the first overall pick.

What league you been playing in? ... California Penal. :P
