Forsberg looks like a good prospect, but he was sent down to Milwaukee recently. Other GMs seem to recognize that the vast majority of young players take time to develop... they take time to adjust to the defensive responsibilities and speed of the NHL game. Not Darcy. Here in Buffalo we draft kids and throw them right in the lineup.
-
Good post. Everyone has lost confidence in Darcy except (apparently) for Terry Pegula and his "hockey guys." We the fans lost confidence in him long ago, and I have no doubt that the players have as well. We've got an AHL coach with a bunch of AHL players who don't work hard because they're so inept working hard doesn't lead to positive outcomes. Why bother. And, they were told before the year began by our GM that we were "rebuilding" and it was a lost year. The veterans can't wait to be traded elsewhere. Complete organizational failure.

Here was with the Preds for 10 years. It was time for a change. I think Housley was brought in, in part, to work with all of the young d-men in Nashville.

I like Horachek a lot. He was a very good assistant here in Nashville for many years. Good to see him get a shot as a head coach.

It's not usually my preferred genre of music, but I've had this song stuck in my head for a couple of days now... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBOuqyqmtJk

Some helmet stealing going on in Chicago! Bizarre! http://www.tsn.ca/videohub/?collection=72&show=104168

The middle section of Garth's blog is beautiful... http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/GARTHS-CORNER/Eakins-Yakupov-Not-Being-Traded/6/55455#.UnqeBxBGYyh He shows multiple head shots by Bruins players that went largely unnoticed... yet certain guys wearing scarlet letters would get multiple game suspensions for the same hits. The NHL is a mess right now when it comes to enforcing the rules.
-
Reminds me of Shea Weber's play against Detroit where he takes Zetterberg's head and rams it into the boards. Clearly intential. No suspension because, of course, Weber is a star player. Had Kaleta or Scott done something like that there'd be a congressional inquiry and they'd be suspended indefinitely. It is a system that protects the stars and throws the book at "lesser" players. (Not unlike the real judicial system in this country?) http://www.sbnation....ators-red-wings

I actually think there is something to this. If the organization is implicitly telling the fans and players that they prefer losing in order to get a better draft pick then why not just collect a paycheck and get on with your life? The organization wants you to lose... so in some sense these guys are just doing their job.

Turnover, turnovers, turnovers... absolute killers in the NFL. TJ Graham... YOU'RE FIRED!

Still hanging around in this one with a rookie free agent (3rd string) QB against one of the best teams in the league...
-
Werd. :death:
-
What is more amazing is Matt Moulson is already tied for 3rd on the team in points with 4... in only 3 games. That's more point than Stafford and Ennis who have each played 16 games. Ouch.

Job Performance Poll: Head Coach Ron Rolston
Iron Crotch replied to IKnowPhysics's topic in The Aud Club
:D This comment made me shoot coffee out my nose! -
Those fans love this ######. Every time there is a fight in a game, in any arena around the league, the fans stand up and cheer. The league will always publicly say they want to remove/minimize fighting from the game, but privately I'm not so sure...

Vancouver up 4-0 and outshooting Toronto 45-18. A Sabres-eque outing for Toronto.
-
Awesome... SabresBuzz @SabresBuzz3m The shift before Burrows beat up Kessel, Burrows was taking baseball swings taunting Kessel. John Scott incident lives on
-
I disagree. He didn't want to be in that fight so he dropped them, then grabbed Burrows and yanked him down on top of him. A subtle move.
-
In the Toronto - Vancouver game, Burrows convinced Kessel to drop the gloves... Kessel grabbed Burrows then dragged both of them to the ice. Weak. Looked to me like Kessel wanted no part of Burrows!
-
At least in Philly they'll have the good sense to fire their GM for leading the team into the toilet.

Well the worst team in NHL history was an expansion team, the 74-75 Wasington Capitals. The expansion Sharks lost 71 games back in the early 90s. It is still early in the season, but it is hard to think of too many non-expansion teams that have been as bad as this year's Sabres. http://en.wikipedia....Capitals_season

He let in 4 of 25 last night and was awful against the Blues on Saturday here in Nashville. The Preds really need Pekka Rinne back.
