  1. I think we'd have a better chance of scoring if we'd shoot the ###### puck.
  2. I think it doesn't matter too much re: Edmonton. They have to take Ekblad (or another defenseman), so we'd still get our pick of the top forwards. That is unless a third team wins the draft lottery and bumps us down a spot...
  3. ...we do have a whole lot of players not named Ott, Miller, or Moulson who could be traded, ya know...
  4. The most annoying part of outdoor games is having to listen to them tell me how "special" the game is for hours upon end. Personally, I think of them as games played on bad ice with poor sight lines. But I get the feeling that 10 years from now after countless outdoor games we'll still have to hear over and over how "special" every ###### outdoor game is. The over-romanticizing of the occasion gets nauseating after a while. <end of rant>
  5. I think the Murray quote is carefully worded and smart. He basically is saying "anyone is available, make me your best offer," which is exactly what a good GM should do. If someone blows him away he can trade one, two, or all three. He still has time before the deadline to re-sign them after hearing what other teams are offering. Personally I think Miller wants to leave. If so, he will obviously be moved. I think Moulson is a goner. I think Ott is the only one who will resign. He is the heart and soul of the team right now and he seems to want to stay. As for twitter, yeah it is a big pile of crap. 99 false rumors for every true one.
  6. I think it is safe to assume that giving up roster players for only picks isn't the objective any more. We've already stockpiled a ton of picks (past and future drafts)... we definitely need some young roster players. Toffoli has played well in his half season or so in LA. He'd be a great pickup for Moulson IMHO. We might need to add something to get Toffoli though.
  7. LA needs scoring now and they need to get their power play going. They're in danger of not making the playoffs if they don't make a move. So I could see the Kings picking up Moulson sooner rather than later.
  8. I'd officially like to retract the above post from the record. The Predators should have never traded Matt Hendricks for Devin Dubnyk. In all my years of watching hockey I've never seen a worse goalie than Devin Dubnyk. 9 goals given up in his 2 starts with Nashville and virtually all of the soft variety. How is this guy still in the league?
  9. I think Girgs is definitely a top-2 line guy. If the argument can be made that CoHo is still developing at 23, then the same argument can certainly be made for Girgs who is barely 20. I think we'll see more scoring out of him as he gets stronger and faster in the next couple of years.
  10. Thanks for the update. Some guys transition to the North American game faster than others, so I think it is probably too soon to worry about him.
  11. The Hoff was a +4 tonight to go with his 3 points. Gus was +3. Two more points to go with a +2 for CoHo. I think our better offensive outputs have coincided with CoHo returning to the lineup. He has played very well lately.
  12. We had 5 against San Jose in November, but that was a shootout win so only 4 goals were scored in regulation. So I think this is our first actual 5 goal game.
  13. 3 point night for The Hoff tonight. He is quietly up to 22 points on the year, which leads Sabres defensemen by a huge margin.
  14. After losing on some soft goals last game, it is nice to be on the other side of things. 6 straight games with 3 goals... maybe we can get a 4th in this one...
  15. It's a freakin' shooting gallery for Columbus. Only a matter of time before they score...
  16. A question for those who closely follow the Amerks: Is Armia looking any better lately?
  17. Most "experts" seem to think Ekblad is the best pure prospect in this draft, position aside. I think people on here forget that finishing dead last will only guarantee us the #2 overall pick. So (hypothetically) if we were to pick second and Reinhart is gone, I think it'd be a good play to take Ekblad. I've always liked the "best available" strategy since most of these guys are years away from playing meaningful NHL minutes and the roster can look very different a few years from now. Plus adding another talented defense prospect would open up all sorts of interesting trade possibilities.
  18. I don't see Miller going to the Ducks. The Blues seem more likely to me. Anaheim is the top overall team right now, so there is a danger in them messing with anything at this point.
