Chicago coach Joel Quenneville is now 3rd all-time in NHL regular season coaching wins. I had no idea he was that high up on the list. The only guys with more wins are Scotty Bowman and Al Arbour. Lindy Ruff is #12 BTW.

It is absolutely accurate. Go to CapGeek and do the math for yourselves. I ran the numbers with all sort of different scenarios and getting the cap payroll over $51 million or so isn't that easy. We have to sign some guys. Even if the cap floor is $48 million we still need to sign one or two high priced players.

Werd. And, we've been combing the trash heaps all season. D'Agostini, Omark, Konopka, Conocher... Playing with effort is great and is a testament to Ted Nolan. But, we're desperately in need of a few guys who can actually put the puck in the other team's net.

The Oilers are 5-3-2 over their last 10. Playing much better with their new goaltenders. I think we're rapidly closing in on the 1st or 2nd overall pick (75% chance of picking 2nd if you finish with the worst record).

Shea Weber is the best defenseman in the NHL. I think Doughty and a couple others are up there, but Shea does everything well.

I always root for the Sabres, but I might have to root for Nashville in this one out of self-interest. The Preds still have an outside shot at the playoffs and I want to see some live playoff hockey!
