  1. I don't want to get all "Westboro" up in here, so I'll just say that my feelings for Ralph are "complicated." However, the capitalist in me certainly respects the mountain of wealth he created throughout his life. Investing $25,000 in an asset that is now worth ~$850 million is impressive.
  2. That's just it. I understand the sentimental value of keeping the team in place, but it is plainly obvious that the value of the franchise would be maximized elsewhere (e.g. Los Angeles). And, as far as we know Ralph simply wanted to get his heirs the greatest possible financial return. I have to think that if he had a different motivation (e.g. keep the team in Buffalo at all costs) we'd have heard about it by now. So in my estimation, someone would have to be willing to significantly overpay to keep the team in Buffalo. Does such a group exist? We'll see. As for owners blocking the move, why would they? They stand to make more money if the team relocates to a bigger media market. Why would they be against this? Anyway, we'll see how this all plays out...
  3. We're 11 points back of Edmonton and can't score worth a ######. Are people really still worried that this team won't finish dead last? If this was a presidential election, this race would have been called long ago.
  4. We just have no offense whatsoever. Other than Ennis, Stafford, and CoHo we have no forwards who can put the puck in the net (Foligno is next best with 7 goals).
  5. Subban is a douche until the very end. Sticks out his leg against Mitchell.
  6. Oh for ###### sake. Another ###### penalty. We go out of our way to suck. :(
  7. Ville actually shot the puck! Repeat. Ville actually took a shot on net!
  8. That was bound to happen. We just don't have any offense. Can't hold them off forever.
  9. Really late call by the ref there. He didn't raise his hand until several seconds after the play.
  10. At least we have one effective line. Ennis - Stafford - Foligno are generating some chances.
  11. The estate has a financial responsibility to sell the asset for maximum return... so whether the team moves depends almost exclusively on the intentions of the highest bidder (and of course the other owners must sign-off on the plan to move if it comes to that). That is how it has always been, which is why I always got annoyed by the large number of folks who just blindly assumed the team would stay in Buffalo... it may, but it is far from assured.
  12. RIP Ralph. He certainly live and long and very successful life. It'll be interesting to see what happens with the team and its ownership.
