So when you have the lowest scoring team in hockey... the only team in the league not to score 200 goals last season... and then you trade two of your top four scorers from an already offensive-starved team, is it really surprising that we struggled offensively?

...we even suck at fighting.

I would totally take Lindy as coach of this young team. At least he'd put some fire into them.

I was beating that horse around here for a while this summer and getting shouted down... so I just stopped posting for a month or two. I see no evidence that Jason Botterill has a clue how to build a playoff contending team. Talent wins games, not getting along in the room. "New" doesn't mean better. We have an unproven GM, and unproven coach and a lineup filled with unproven players and JAGs.... BTW - I don't dislike Phil Housley, but this lineup is filled with kids who needs guidance from someone who has done it for many years.

No, I totally agree with the last part. That's why I didn't want yet another GM who tried to sell the fan base on a long slow "build from within" rebuild. But, unfortunately I think that's what we have (moved O'Reilly & Kane). So, I figure our best hope for this season is if Dahlin and Middlestadt really make strides as the season progresses.

The talent this team has comes courtesy of sucking so badly for the past decade (Jack, Dahlin, Reinhardt, Casey)… otherwise this is a weak roster. It just is. I'll disagree with everyone around here who says our off-season additions make us better (other than Dahlin). We let two of our top four scorers walk and replaced them with castoffs and non-difference makers, although I like Skinner.

Ah, so it's not just me! I posted earlier that everything looked blurry on my feed. You're right, the CenterIce feed is garbage. I checked out the Bruins feed, but it is the same.

I realize it's just part of being a sports fan to get excited before each season, but this team still lacks talent. We have some good young players, but most of our off-season pickups were castoffs and non-difference makers.

I honestly and truly think we'll finish dead last again this season (which I've posted on this forum several times). I'm rooting for our boys, but....
