Yeah, the top-4 draft prospects are all kind of bunched up. Between the three highest rated forwards each have strengths and weaknesses. I think it is simply a matter of which guy the GM thinks is a better fit for what he wants the team to be in the future. If we assume Bennett goes #1 overall, and given the Sabres only have a 25% chance of having the #1 overall pick, it then is a question of Reinhart or Draisatl. One is a playmaking distributor type, the other is a more physical goal scorer type. I think it is really up to what Murray thinks the team should be a few years down the road.

I knew Dave before he got into wrestling. We used to go to the same gym in Falls Church, VA. He was a massive freak of a human being back then, plenty roided out, and intimidating as hell. We had several pro body builders at the gym (King Kamali among others) and Dave was stronger than all of them... he used to incline over 400 pounds for multiple reps with ease. His goal was to get into wrestling at the time... he definitely succeeded!

Maybe we need to pair Gus up with the "German Gretzky" (aka the "Deutschland Dangler").

Speaking of bloodlines to former Sabres, Dave Snuggerud's nephew Luc is a second round prospect. We could always use another Snuggerud... if only because it is fun to say.

The Stars - Preds game is a thing of beauty. Games that matter this time of year are fun to watch.

Well, we got Zadarov as a result of that trade, so if he pans out then I like it. I think Larsson migtht be a servicable NHLer. Hackett just doesn't have it.

Maybe, but watching Conacher and Ennis get knocked down like rag dolls is frustrating. At least Leon has the size to handle the physical play (he goes about 210 as an 18 year old). BTW - In P.A. they call him "the Deutschland Dangler." :blink:

I know most of our bigger forwards (and d-men for that matter) are out hurt... but is it too much to ask to get more size up front in order to be able to handle a nasty game like yesterday? That said, I'm certain Murray knows this. We'll know soon enough, but I get the feeling he might favor Draisaitl with our first pick due to his size.

:( A telephone hearing is ridiculous considering they'd throw the book at any Sabre who did something similar. Looking at last night's lineup, who would have even stepped up? Beyond Weber, Scott, and Deslauriers, we dressed a team full of rookies and smallish finesse types. And, the Flyers did whatever they wanted all night while the Sabres got pushed around. We're back to severely lacking in size and grit.
