I've never seen a team that was down to its 5th and 6th goaltenders after choices 1 through 4 got hurt. On top of that this team will almost certainly set the modern record for offensive futility. This season can't end soon enough. ...I sure hope Tim Murray knows what the hell he is doing!

In all seriousness, I always thought that was a major factor in the Bruins getting away with almost everything (e.g. no suspension when Miller got run a few years ago). What we need is an ex-Sabre to become the new NHL disciplinarian... but not LaFontaine. :D

McBain definitely tripped him and it is a freak accident that could happen to anyone... but he was still driving the net pretty hard on the play.

I've seen some bad calls in my day, but that's about the worst I've ever seen. They might have given him 2 just because they weren't sure... but 5 and a game for a clean hit? There are alternate sets of rules for different teams in the NHL.

..and of course our goalie gets injured...

I can't think of another sports league where the calls depend more on who you are. ...I guess the NBA give the "stars" all the foul calls, but the NHL is just so blantant in their non-uniformity. Our guys are getting thrown out for clean hits?!

I'm thinking Hackett isn't resigned this summer. Makarov and Lieuwen in Rochester next year, with Ullmark in Sweden for another year. We've got a lot of interesting goalie prospects and Hackett is simply being outplayed by them.

This is a valid point. The product that is provided by the Sabres organization and consumed by fans is entertainment.

Yep, they have to say that. No point in showing your cards early. If another team thinks you'll draft "their guy" it opens up trade possibilities. And, I'll go on record as being the only person on this forum who thinks we should take Draisaitl if we draft 2nd and Bennett is gone. Murray likes size and Leon has NHL size already. And, amid all of the Reinhart hysteria on this board, Leon Draisaitl put up the exact same number of points, 105, in the same league (WHL) as Rhinehart, but on a worse team. (Although, Leon did play a few more games than Sam) BTW - one of the reasons Bennett is the #1 rated prospect is he is almost a year younger than the other top rated guys.
