  1. Our own Chris Stewart was taken 4 slots ahead of Claude Giroux in that draft. :D
  2. Lehtonon deserves some criticism for his part in the Dallas meltdown. The third goal went in because his positioning was off (too low) and the tying goal he was just lying there with no real attempt to find the puck. His positioning wasn't great on the winning goal either. On the flip-side, one goalie who played really well when it mattered was Corey Crawford. He made some clutch saves, especially in the game 5 OT game. Stopped 35 of 36 in the Game 6.
  3. Derek Roy won't be in St. Louis next season. I predict he lands in Nashville.
  4. Total meltdown by the Lindy's Stars. Oof. Ducks advance.
  5. Wow, what a game in Dallas. The Ducks with the late comeback to tie it up. Intense game, crazy crowd... I miss playoff hockey.
  6. Nah. I gotta learn to use Google! (fixed it)
  7. ...I didn't have time to edit my post before you caught that!
  8. The Blues got ousted in the first round by their all-time winningest coach (Quenneville). ;)
  9. I don't think Miller wants to be back in Buffalo (he may not be the biggest fan of Nolan) and the Sabres need to see what they have with Enroth and Neuvirth and others in the system. Need to look foward, not backward. The Ducks have had all sorts of goaltending issues in their series with the Stars. They might emerge as an option for Miller, especially if they get bounced by Dallas.
  10. Yeah, I thought it odd that the Blues tried to modify his game (sit further back in the crease, etc.) to fit Hitch's system. Obviously it didn't work. I still think Miller might sign there in the off-season. I'm not sure either party has a better option.
  11. Dallas is really buzzing around in the Ducks' offensive zone.
  12. People should start giving more credit to Joel Quenneville for being a really good coach. The guy is the third winningest coach in NHL history (6th winningest playoff coach) and is only 55.
  13. We got Halak (flipped for Neuvirth), Stewart, Carrier, a 2015 1st round pick, and a conditional 2014 3rd rounder for two guys who ultimately didn't end up being difference makers for the Blues. I'd say the Sabres won this trade! I wonder if Murray will try to resign Ott...
  14. List of pending UFAs... http://www.capgeek.com/ufa-finder/
  15. Murray could sign free agents in their stead who would be an instant upgrade (e.g., the Callahan or Ott ideas aren't terrible) or could hand those spots to youngsters who have growth potential (e.g., Deslauriers, Larsson, etc.). Can bring back Kaleta for one of the 4th line wing spots next year too. Edit: He is new to the team, but I'll throw Torrey Mitchell in the "dime a dozen" category too. I like his speed though.
  16. Why do people want Conacher back, other than he is a Canisius product? And, why do people want D'Agostini back? These guys are dime-a-dozen players.
  17. Chatted with Paul Guastad for about 20 minutes this morning at the dog park. I was wearing a Sabres hat, so we struck up a converation. Super cool guy. Really like him. We talked about all things hockey - the Sabres, the Preds, the playoffs, etc.
  18. Girls wear short dresses with cowboy boots here in Nashville. I'm definitely a fan. But, It'd be a cold day in hell before I ever wore cowboy boots... Doc Martens are more my style.
  19. Anyone see the very end of the Kings - Sharks game? Got ugly in the last 15 seconds or so. Three or four fights. Bad blood boiling over.
  20. I freakin' hate the Bruins. :censored:
  21. Usually teams play defensive in overtime. Not in this game. Wide open hockey.
  22. Sid is a great player, of course, but if I was building a team I'd build it around a shut down defensive pair who get a ton of ice time in all situations. I'm of the belief that the backbone of the Blackhawks, and one of the main reasons for their success, is the all-world defensive pair of Keith and Seabrook.
  23. Yep. Shea. 6'4 235 defenseman who can score and play in all situations and has a deadly accurate point shot. And, is not a whiney douche.
  24. Why does the best player in the world have to be a forward? I'm going with Shea Weber. ;)
  25. "Best in the world" by what measure? Maybe, the best stick handler / puck possession guy in the world. Certainly not the best all-around player. Yeah, new threads keep the board active. And, are mobile friendly! But, I also agree with the poster upthread who suggests checking to see if it is already being discussed before posting a new thread. In this case, there is no other dedicated Patrick Kane discussion.
