I'd like Stastny for sure since this roster is begging for another scoring center. Callahan isn't a bad idea. I'd be okay with Ott, but given the choice of the two would prefer Callahan since he is better defensively than Otter. I still like Moulson, although I'm sure he has other destinations in mind at this point. One name no one has mentioned who I think wouldn't be a terrible UFA addition is Lee Stempniak. He is a local guy who can score a bit and wouldn't cost too much. I wouldn't mind another reasonably priced veteran d-man to replace RFA McBain (McBain can go far, far away as far as I'm concerned). With so many kids (Risto, Pysyk, McCabe, Zadarov), adding a steady older UFA d-man for them to learn from isn't a terrible idea. On that note, the only UFA I'd resign is probably Hank as a veteran 7th defenseman (although might as well resign John Scott since he won't cost anything).

Wow, this is a complete ass raping by the Kings.

The Kings have one main goal in evaluating players... they look for players who are strong on the puck (per Darryl Sutter on SiriusXM NHL radio last week). They want guys who can carry and hold the puck in traffic without panicking. They want guys who can't easily be stripped of the puck in the corners. They don't necessarily target bigger, more physical guys, but often size correlates with being strong on the puck. The above is why I still think there is a chance we take Draisaitl in the draft. He is a big kid who can work the corners and is hard to strip the puck from. On another note, today there was a discussion on NHL radio about what a pleasant surprise CoHo was at left wing at the world championships. Sounds like that'll be his permanent position going forward (perhaps with Zemgus in the middle?).

Unfortunately, I think Miller's age (34) might put him in the category of veteran backup come free agency on July 1st. I just don't see any team throwing $6 million or more at him. He'd be a fit for Tampa, Pittsburgh, Dallas (Lindy connection), Colorado, and a few other spots. But, I don't think anyone will look at him as a starter. He would certainly make a very good insurance policy for a contending team.

Makes you wonder how Darcy (and many of us) thought a team could be built around Vanek, Pommer, and Miller.

Yeah, conventional wisdom says anyone could have drafted guys like Crosby and Malkin, which is true. But, Patrick did pretty well with his other picks.

On NHL radio they were saying it was pretty obvious he was injured during Game 6 and 7. They thought the injury might have happened during Game 3.

A lot of guys are fierce competitors on the ice, but are otherwise good human beings off the ice. But, Lucic just seems like a bad person in general.
