  1. ...And, the Eastern Conference thuggery rears its ugly head.
  2. Oh, wow. Doughty is ridiculously good.
  3. I just want the Sabres to be able to forecheck like the Kings. Big huge guys who knock the snot out of the opposing team's defense. We haven't had a consistent forecheck in forever. On another note, I'm ###### sick of Channel 4 Nashville cutting to weather coverage every 5 minutes. It's the ###### Cup final. I don't care there are heavy storms in Madisonville, Kentucky. Show the game. Who makes these decisions at the network?
  4. Kings defensemen are playing like ######.
  5. Nice shot by Benoit. That was "Sabres-like" by the Kings defense. ;)
  6. The Kings are so much bigger and more physical than Montreal.
  7. Nothing earth shattering, but a nice read: http://www.hockeybuz...draft/209/60414
  8. I can barely walk after doing heavy leg lifting these days. Same stuff I always did, but now the recovery time is almost a week. Sucks getting old!
  9. That's a great idea... if you want explosive diarrhea. :P
  10. I was a serious weightlifter for 20+ years, but unfortunately (as anyone over 40 on this board can attest to) time eventually catches up with you. All of the heavy weights you lift in your 20's and 30's will almost invariably cause injuries later in life. I don't know any serious lifter that hasn't developed shoulder problems (rotator cuff most commonly) by age 40, and many have knee, ankle, and/or back problems. Nothing more frustrating than not being able to do what you could always do... I still lift 4 times per week, but my weights are way down from what they used to be. And, entire exercises (e.g., incline bench and pull ups) are a thing of the past due to a partially torn rotator cuff. Now when I go to the gym and see the young guys loading up the bar on, for example, flat or incline bench and using poor form, I cringe because I know they'll develop shoulder problems later in life. :(
  11. I'd trade Myers and some other assets for the 1st or 3rd overall pick in a second. I've never been sold on him as a "franchise" defenseman. Watching guys like Doughty, Keith, Seabrook, Subban and others in this year's playoffs just reaffirms that belief for me.
  12. Yep. It's not cross-fit. We're not looking for the guy who is the best at working out. I posted elsewhere, this sort of thing came up prior to the 2007 NBA draft. Kevin Durant couldn't do a single bench press rep at 185, the only guy at the combine who couldn't do a single rep. The talking heads flipped out about it. ...He, of course, won MVP this year.
  13. It's painfully obvious that Green isn't ready yet. He looks like a kid out there as an 18 year old against world class players. My best analogy is he is Grigorenko two years ago. In 4 years if he progresses, yes, Green should be there. But, we could use Landon's experience off the bench, especially if we get down a couple of goals and need another offensive option.
  14. http://youtu.be/LWz2BkzcJ1o Landon Donovan should have been on the USA world cup roster instead of Julian Green.
  15. The Kings just beat San Jose, Anaheim, and Chicago. No one can convince me that the Rangers aren't the weakest of the King's four playoff opponents. Kings in 5.
  16. There were a couple of Knicks - Lakers finals in the early 70's and a couple of Yankees - Dodgers World Series in the late 70's / early 80's. Otherwise, I can't think of any. Finals tickets are going to cost a fortune in this series!
  17. Dream finals match-up for the league. The two biggest media markets make the finals.
  18. Ithaca's finest, Dustin Brown.
  19. Quite a series. A shame someone had to lose. I'm not looking forward to more of the Rangers boring defensive style in the finals.
  20. Kings win!
