I'm right there with you. I watched Leggy play here in Nashville for many years and he is a very, very good player. Let the kids develop in juniors and in Rochester instead of throwing them to the wolves at 18 year olds.

Yay! My favorite Sabre returns. And, further proof that Murray has balls of steel. He trades away his guys at the deadline for significant assets. Then re-signs them as UFAs in the summer... AND keeps the assets he got for them. I have a man crush on Murray.

The only thing I can think is Poille would potentially reunite Vanek and Roy and put Neal on the wing. I still think Vanek picks Minnesota though.

:blink: The thing I like (assuming this is a done deal) is Murray trades his guys at the deadline for assets... then signs them back. So we still have the player AND have the acquired assets as well. That is ballsy GM work IMHO.

A bit, but he was getting $5 million per in Montreal.

It's not like we're signing sure all-stars... But, comparing last year's roster to this year's we should be significantly more competitive. Gorges is better than McBain and Gionta is better than D'Agostini/Conacher.

Got the Habs captain... got their assistant captain... who is next? Moulson is my wish. But, he'll have a lot of good options I'm sure.

I think Derek Roy might end up in Nashville. And, the Leafs are in on Dom Moore. That guy will play for every team in the league before his career is over. Dude put the "journey" in journeyman.

I look at it this way... everything the Isles do turns to crap. It's almost predictable that they defer the pick to us for next year then finish dead last. That's just an Isles sort of thing to do!

I think Weber will be gone at the trade deadline. Love his heart, but he just doesn't have enough skill with the puck on his stick to be effective.

I'm fine with that. I trust that the Isles will be terrible and we can still get our guy in the draft with their pick!

This. Gorges is a better Weber. Montreal fans are pissed. Was listening to NHL radio yesterday and they were interviewing a guy who has covered the Habs for the past 8 years (can't remember the reporters name)... he gushed about Gorges. We'll sign another defenseman, but hard to predict who that might be. Probably someone more offensive-minded (?).

His family is in St. Louis. They were always the team to beat.

If we end up signing Gionta we'd be acquiring Montreal's captain and one of their assistant captains (Gorges). ;)
