I assume a lot teams don't want to take on salary at this point in the year. Many of the teams that might want to make a move are reasonably close to the cap. I don't see us making any moves until close to the trade deadline when the market picks up and GMs are willing to overpay for a shot at the Cup. So GMTM waits...

Strachan has actually played more NHL games than Benoit. Benoit should be the better offensive player of the two based on past stats (although it is hard to compare across teams), but neither are guys who should keep Pysyk and Zadorov out of the lineup IMHO.

I can't disagree more. In today's NHL, you need points from your defensemen. Put another way, if a guy is playing 25 minutes a game and is playing on the first power play unit, how can he have only 1 point through 13 games? That's not a true #1 defenseman in my book. You need to generate some offense from the backend. We got that today with 2 assists from Strachan and actually won a game.

The youngsters played a big role in this win. That is good to see.

2 assists and a +1 tonight for Strachan. While everyone jizzes over Myers and Gorges, they forget that we can't score as a team and our two "ice eating d-men" have a combined 1 point between them. At some point we need to generate offense from the back-end. That's my grand complaint about Myers. Defensively our top pair is very good.

Kicked around the Blues, Panthers, and Caps. Yo-yo'd between the NHL and AHL. Maybe he is just a late bloomer? Either way, he has more points than all of our other d-men combined and has only played 3 games.

Strachan is our leading scorer among defensemen... and he never plays. Maybe Nolan will take notice? The pairing of Strachan and Zadorov has done just fine.

I think I'm seeing a Flynn - Deslauriers - Stewart line out there, no? ...and Moulson - Girgs - Gionta. Interesting.
