It never ceases to amaze me how bad our passing is. Our d-men struggle to make basic passing plays. And, our forwards look like they have no idea where teammates are supposed to be.

The Canes are much better without the injuries. But, the Preds pretty much sleep walked through two periods then turned it on in the 3rd and got the win. Here is an interesting Sabres stat: We are 11-4-1 when scoring first (a respectable 15th in the league in that stat) We are 3-20-2 when the opposing team scores first (at the bottom of the league with Edmonton & Washington)

I like Horachek. He has paid his dues. Unfortunately, his only two NHL head coaching shots (Panthers & now Leafs) were with the "interim" label after someone got fired.

2015 here we come! :thumbsup: There are so many candidates being interviewed, I don't have a clue who is going to emerge from the pack. I'd be satisfied with someone who is a good game day coach (i.e., knows when to challenge a call, knows when you use his timeouts, knows went to go for 2, when to go for it on 4th down, etc.). And, that is hard to detect in an interview.

I was at the Preds - Canes game last night and DVR'd this one, but didn't bother to watch it. Figured it was just a replay of the last couple of games. On another note, I sat right behind the Preds bench last night and you get a whole other perspective on the game when you sit there. The game has a rhythm to it when played at the highest level. Put a bunch of rookies and AHL guys into a lineup (Sabres) and that rhythm is lost.
