Bridgestone Arena was absolutely rocking tonight for Barry Trotz's return to Nashville. 4-3 come from behind win for the Preds over the Caps. Was like a playoff game with both teams giving everything on every shift. The arena was deafening. 30 wins now for the Preds.

Truth. There is a lot of biased processing whereby the positive "bottoming out" examples are cited and the negative examples are ignored. Everyone clings to Pittsburgh as the exemplar of what happens when you tank to land Sydney McJesus. But, there are several teams that had 4-5 top-2 picks over a 4-5 year span and never got anywhere. Atlanta (99-02) & Ottawa (92-96) to name two. And, then there is Edmonton. Of course, the past doesn't necessarily repeat itself.... time will tell, but I think we're underestimating how long it takes players to develop. I tend to think we're looking at 4-5 seasons before the team has any shot at being a viable contender. 3 if we're lucky.
