  1. Stafford and Myers played pretty much the same as we saw with Buffalo. I thought Stafford had a good game (I never hated his as much as others on this board) and Myers was good in his own zone, especially along the wall. Typical Myers missed badly on some outlet passes - one in particular would have let to a 2-on-1 but instead went for an icing call. The Weber shot caught Myers in the knee area. He might be out for a bit. I still think Bogo is better overall than Myers. I guess we'll know soon enough.
  2. Uh oh.... NS is going to hunt you down like a dog!
  3. Guy hasn't even set foot in Buffalo yet. ;) Fans always assume everyone wants to return to their hometown. I don't think players think the ways fans do. A good situation and winning team can trump everything (e.g., Patrick Kane). And, three years is a lot of time.
  4. I like Lane Lambert (Washington) and Phil Housley (Nashville) as candidates somewhere. But, I doubt they're on GMTM's list.
  5. Grier? ...You mean Black Vanek (as he was referred to in GDT's back in the day). :D
  6. I agree. Reinhart will start next year in Rochester for two reasons: (1) as we saw last year, he still has a ways to go physically and a half season of getting bounced around in the AHL will be good for him; (2) the entire league saw what a mistake it was for Edmonton to rush a bunch of teenagers into the starting lineup. Going with two rookie centers (Eichel & Reinhart) is a recipe for disaster. One or the other will be with the big club. Not both.
  7. O'Reilly and Evander Kane have the same agent. Probably doesn't matter, but it sure doesn't hurt re: O'Reilly.
  8. Labrum tear, which is worse. Shouldn't keep out beyond the 4-6 months though.
  9. http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/id/34541/evander-kane-on-trade-to-buffalo-sabres-its-nice-to-feel-wanted
  10. Hopefully we can remove our Messy Balls? If every UFA is sold, we won't have many players left. They'll have to have open tryouts at the arena.
  11. Murray will re-sign Jhonas on July 1st. He basically let the Stars borrow him at the cost of a 3rd rounder. The reason Jhonas would re-sign is no other team is likely to be looking for a starter. Trading UFAs for assets and then re-signing them on July 1st is pure genius!
  12. Saw this on twitter :P "Hello, Evander? This is Tim Murray..." "Speak up! This phone is made of money." I think this might be the plan. Even if he trades Stewart, I think he'll try to sign him on July 1st. Bogosian is a monster as well. He can be a nasty, physical player. Built like a brick shithouse.
  13. I wonder if Murray trades Neuvirth too... he just might...
  14. Knowing what type of player Murray likes - big and physical but with some skill - I think he may try to re-sign Stewart on the UFA market after selling him at the deadline. It'd be a bold move, but is what he did last year by selling and then re-signing Moulson and CodyMac.
  15. We traded for a hurt forward and a goalie who plays like he is hurt. If folks didn't know Murray was trying to finish last, they do now. ;)
  16. I liked little Jhonas. But, it's a fire sale. I don't have a clue who will be in net next year.
  17. This year he has been terrible. But, I remember him quite well from when he was in Nashville and he was very good as Pekka's backup. Not sure what happened to him since then. Doesn't matter though. Murray is all-in on finishing dead last at this point.
  18. I think the Predators may have an interest.
  19. Why do the local sportscasters have so little information about Sabres trade rumors? The national writers kept saying Myers was in play and the local guys kept saying it wasn't so.
  20. With Drew leaving, the last of Darcy's "core" is gone. The only guys left from 4 years ago are Ennis, Kaleta, and Weber (and I guess Ellis too). Total roster transformation.
  21. I agree. Honestly, with only 50 pro contracts available and so many picks coming in over the past few years (we'll pick up more this year when we trade out our current UFAs), we can't keep all of these draftees. Some need to be bundled and moved. We still have McEichel, Reinhart, Grigorenko, Compher, Fasching, Baptiste, Bailey...
  22. :D GMTM likes bulls, not giraffes! (I'll see Myers play with his new team tomorrow... kind of excited about it)
  23. I think Murray wants a heavy, physical team. Bogosian fits that, as does Evander Kane. I actually think Murray will try to bring back Stewart in the off season. Stewart knows Kane (his brother was Kane's teammate in Atlanta).
