You don't know that. None of us do. I see the offers upthread trying to give away half the team for a good-but-not-great player who won't re-sign where he is at as just as off base. If the Winnipeg post-trade press conference is an indication, Murray isn't interested in moving Girgs, Foligno, Risto, Zadorov or other young guys who can play a "heavy" game. Assuming Eichel, Reinhart, and Girgs stay at center, we already have a future top-3 centers. Picking up O'Reilly would give us 4, so someone presumably would move to wing (Girgs or maybe Reinhart). Roy was Grigorenko's coach in Juniors, so it seems to make sense to move him assuming the Avs have an interest.

I actually think Stafford isn't a bad fit at wing on the Jets second line. He has some speed, decent size, can hold his own in a physical game, and can put the puck in the net a little bit. He's a solid deadline playoff rental. Could be worth resigning for the right price. He just wore out his welcome in Buffalo and the change of scenery does both he and the Sabres some good. Come playoff time (which is still years away for the Sabres), I'm pretty sure I want a guy like Bogo, not a guy like Myers. Myers is playing a little bit over his head right now and will regress toward the mean. And, I question his mental toughness. But, if he is playing second pair minutes, that'll help.

I was in the "trade Myers" camp for a long time around here. Personally, I don't miss him and his poor breakout passes one bit. I'll take Bogosian.
