Chronic pessimism is endemic to the region. I didn't realize that until I left Western New York.

I never realized it until I looked it up just now, but Leddy is only 23 years old. I assume the Isles want to build around Leddy and Hamonic. So I don't mind the deal from the Isles' perspective. I'm not a big Myers fan... I think I'd take Leddy at $5.5 since he has already won a Cup and is a big reason for the Isles' turnaround this year (along with Boychuk).

The Oilers are playing right around .500 hockey since adding Derek Roy. The team in free fall mode right now is Arizona. 6 straight losses.

I watched the game yesterday. The Preds sleepwalked through the first two periods yesterday then turned it on in the third to get the point (force overtime). That never happens two games in a row for the Preds. My guess is Carter Hutton will start in net. A battle between the two teams I follow closely. Watch how the Preds defensemen carry and move the puck. It is impressive.

I've watched most of the Jets games since the trade (including this one) and they're crapping themselves over Myers since he's gotten 5 points in his first 5 games. But, the Jets are losing ground in the standings and Myers has a +/- of zero (-1 coming into tonight's game) since the trade. Personally, I see the same Myers.
