  1. Me too. And, you know where I stand (I think).
  2. SabresBuzz ‏@SabresBuzz 9m9 minutes ago Kaleta: "I play for the fans who root for us and the little kids who come to the game & root for the Buffalo Sabres. Thats who I play for"
  3. It's the quietest barn in the league and has been for years. If they were sophisticated they'd make some noise once in a while at games. It's ###### disgraceful for "fans" wearing Sabres jerseys to attend a game then openly root for Arizona. The players around the league have pride. From what I've read over the past year or so, most on this board do not. Guys in that room are pissed, as they should be.
  4. How horrible to have the vast majority of the country's wealth. http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2014/12/12/racial-wealth-gaps-great-recession/
  5. I hope the Sabres win. Just because it'll be fun to watch all the whining on this board if that happens. Meltdowns provide great entertainment. :)
  6. Great play, but how bad does #4 suck. Kid got owned. :D
  7. Every free agent signs with Pittsburgh. And a "generational talent" is essential to winning a Cup. That's why the Pens have won so many Cups with Crosby.
  8. I'm not sure every trade needs a "winner" and "loser." Murray moved pieces that didn't fit with what he is trying to do with his team. I'm not concerned at all that the guys who were moved are producing with their new team given they're now in a new system. Many on this board seem to discount that the reason we made the trade was to get Evander Kane. Since he hasn't even set foot on the ice for the Sabres, I think it is too early to proclaim "winners" and "losers." On that end, with this year's draft + Reinhart + Kane + Bogosian, we will soon have four former top-5 picks in the lineup.
  9. On one of the worst teams in league history, that stat is telling. Larsson is finally living up to his billing as being a dependable two-way player. I'd like to think he has a secured a full-time spot in Buffalo finally, but we'll see what happens this off-season.
  10. My parents live in Plano. I don't like it much. Too sterile with the manicured homes and manicured people and strip malls and chain restaurants. But, I think it is more that I don't like the suburbs in general. Chuck Norris lives down the street from my folks. So, of course, no one messes with the neighborhood. ;)
  11. Matty Mo with the tap in. ...Lindy is definitely going to blow his shrimper vein.
  12. Not sure, but it sounded funny so I posted it. :D
  13. 2 goals scored on the birthday of former Sabre Darren Puppa. It's an offensive explosion for our boys.
  14. That's Puck Off by Pantera. Dime on guitar makes it awesome. :) https://youtu.be/RKqwX_nTy5c
  15. The ACC is 11-1 so far in the NCAA tournament with 5 Sweet-16 teams. Impressive.
  16. I agree with this. Oversized goalie equipment, elaborate defensive trap systems, clogging up the shooting lanes, etc. Get up by a goal then go into a defensive shell. And (as someone said upthread) the shots that go into the net these days are the result of luck much of the time in that they pinball off of players. There won't be any 100-point players this year and there is a high probability of only three 40-goal scorers (Ovi, Stamkos, Nash).
  17. I've seen Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Big and Rich, Kansas, Alice Cooper, etc. on the sound stage singing between periods. And, I was pretty hammered before the puck even dropped yesterday. But, sitting there between the first and second periods I was sure I heard Tiffany's "I think we're alone now" remake wafting through the arena. Sure, enough there she was on the soundstage. She looks old and a little rough around the edges these days. It was strange... yet kind of awesome. Like it or not, the days of a stoic Milt Ellis and an organist as the main forms of non-game in-arena entertainment are long gone. Arenas find a way to keep fans engaged and energized regardless of the score. Sadly, Buffalo is the worst I've seen for in-game marketing. People on this forum say they prefer it that way, which is fine... but I find it unsurprising that the FNC sounds like a library most games. The rationale for more/better in-game marketing: if the team is terrible (as the Sabres are), you at least can give the fans a show that allows them to have a good time regardless of the game outcome.
  18. The Preds have a stage over the Zamboni entrance where they have bands play live music between periods. They get "big name" performers for some games and local performers for others. It's unique to Music City. Yesterday for some reason they had Tiffany of late 80's fame. Bizarre.
  19. A good number of Sabres fans in the arena yesterday. I sat behind the Sabres bench a couple of rows up from the tunnel and the section was about 1/3 Sabres fans. Saw a lot of classic Sabres jerseys including a guy who had a Perreault Jersey and his sons had Robert and Martin. I was in a Zadorov jersey. ...Most of the Sabres fans knew the outcome of the game was inevitable, but felt a sort of civic duty to see the Sabres when they come to town. Got far too wasted before, during, and after the game so I don't really have any game insights. :flirt:
