  1. It applies to anyone who bought CenterIce or GameCenterLive between 2008 and 2015. If you received a notice, they have a record of you (I think). I think they're offering a discount this year (12.5%? for those with Comcast or DirecTV).
  2. Oduya has the same agent as Evander Kane and O'Reilly and Legwand. Hmmm... http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/GARTHS-CORNER/Oduya-Want-A-Left-D/6/69927
  3. Yeah, I get the feeling if Oduya wanted to be in Buffalo he would have signed already. As an older player, he may prefer a team that is closer to winning a Cup right now.
  4. Most of the above posts seem to undervalue Legwand. He is a solid two-way player with over 1000 games of NHL experience and over 600 points (former #2 overall pick). And, he can play in all situations (led the Sens in PP goals last year). At worst he provides veteran mentorship for our two young centers for a year. And, with only one year left on his contract if he becomes expendable he can be dealt at the deadline. I've watched the guy play for years down here and unless his skills have really fallen off over the past year, he will be in the lineup this year for the Sabres (probably 4th line due to CodyMac's health concerns).
  5. I think he is a perfect fit for the Ducks. They love big, physical forwards who have some skill.
  6. The Blues signed Balls too. (Benoit)
  7. Yeah, I was kind of hoping someone here could give first-hand accounts of the development camp. 10,000+ tickets sold for Friday's scrimage, so I'm sure some SabreSpacers will be in attendance and will report back.
  8. Interesting update from Garth (blogger) about Jason Kasdorf who most though was a 'throw in' as part of the Evander Kane trade. Apparently he can actually play... http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/GARTHS-CORNER/Rockin-The-Kasdorf/6/69876
  9. I love Duluth. Anyone who gets a chance to visit (preferably in the summer) should check it out. But with only 270,000 or so people in the metro area, no TV market, and no corporate dollars... an AHL team in Duluth would be great!
  10. We do the calculations every year. And, Houston always comes out on top (based on a reasonable set of assumptions). The problem with the market is Les Alexander, who owns the Toyota Center and its primary tenant the Houston Rockets, isn't interested in the NHL and won't allow another owner to use his building. So it'd take a new arena to get the NHL to Houston and that won't happen.
  11. In his one year as head coach, Lambert led Kelowna to a ridiculous 53-13-6 record and the Western Conference title. They also went 16-3 in the Western Conference playoffs. Pretty impressive.
  12. I'm going to see The Melvins tonight at Exit/In in Nashville. Haven't seen them in over a decade.
  13. ...and we have a new hot dog eating champion. 62 dogs and buns in 10 minutes for new champ Matt Stonie.
  14. I like Colaiacovo. He has a lot of talent, but is always hurt. Was very solid for St. Louis, but that was really the last time he was healthy. At less than a million per year, I like the signing.
  15. I'd be shocked if Buffalo isn't one of the bidders for Oduya. At the end of the day, it is up to the player where he wants to go, of course. The Hoff seemingly won't be back. But, I wonder whether the relationship between he and Murray is as bad as everyone assumes. He would certainly fit a need (offensive d-man).
  16. The Rangers grabbed Victor Stalberg. That's a good move on their part. Stalberg is a beast when healthy.
  17. $6 million is a lot of scratch for a guy who is always hurt.
  18. Yeah, Pittsburgh has always gotten knocked out of the playoffs because they don't play defense... so they go out and get more scoring.
  19. Barry Trotz ran a defensive system. Last year under Laviolette, the Preds were an offensive team. Finished top 1/2 in the league in goals. Scoring isn't a problem in Nashville. A lack of grit and size is. Poille is in love with finesse players.
  20. :censored: :censored: :censored: I hate this (as a Preds season ticket holder)
  21. Werd. Now being reported that the Pens did not sign Semin.
  22. I am going to assume that Murray is hammering out a deal with Oduya right now.
  23. The Pens signed Semin too. 1 year at $2 million.
  24. The Hockey Chat ‏@TheHockeyChat now9 seconds ago Don't be shocked if the Leafs sign Hodgson #NHL :D
  25. I think GMTM might be after both a right- and left-sided defenseman. Barrett Jackman to the Preds BTW.
