  1. There should be tens of people at this game in South Florida.
  2. I've though this all along about Samson. It is a rare exception that a teenager can step into an NHL lineup and be ready from Day 1 and it was obvious last year that Samson wasn't physically ready just yet. No need to rush him when we have plenty of offensively gifted forwards already. He can get 20+ minutes per night down on the farm rather than 4th line minutes in Buffalo (he got 9:58 today).
  3. We outshot an opponent. That happened about twice all of last year. ;)
  4. Nice win! We've got guys on all 4 lines who can put the puck in the net. Been a long time since that was the case.
  5. https://vine.co/v/eE7D9O3El5t On another note: Our PK appears to suck.
  6. Came at a clutch time too. That makes it even better.
  7. Easily. I'm rewatching the game in a sober state today and on TV you can't tell just how many Bills fans were there. The upper deck was probably 80% Bills fans. It was pretty much a home game. Downtown Nashville was a drunken Bills pep rally all weekend!
  8. There should be thousands of Bills fans in town for this game. The Nashville Bills Backers alone got 450 tickets together for Bills fans (I'm in that group along with a couple other SabreSpacers). The Germantown Oktoberfest is going on all weekend (about a mile north of the heart of downtown), and a big group of Bills fans will be going to the Preds game on Saturday evening. After the Preds game there is an informal plan for Bills fans to take over the top (3rd) floor of Honky Tonk Central on Broadway downtown.
  9. Love this version of a Talking Heads classic...
  10. The holding call was "iffy." As was the offensive pass interference call on Clay. He pushed off a little, but every guy on every route does that. When it gets called versus when it doesn't get called seems arbitrary (I think there are some parallels to certain hockey calls in that regard). I thought there were some bad calls both ways. The lineman downfield call against the Giants was pretty questionable.
  11. IMHO, the talent is there. The coaching and discipline is not. Is Rex Ryan and his new staff really an upgrade over what we had?
  12. If I'm not mistaken Moulson has the best career points per game number on the team. Of course, playing with Tavares was a big part of that. But, put him with Eichel and he should score 25 goals or so.
  13. Nice to see the Sabres scoring some goals. With Bylsma's system and a legit top-2 lines there is no reason we can't score a goal per game more than last year. But, I never put too much stock in preseason records since half the players are prospects and for the most part coaches are experimenting (and certain veterans aren't throwing too many checks). Maybe I'm biased but I was actually happy we got Eichel since he is a little stronger and IMHO is capable of playing a more physical game than McDavid. Both will be great, but the physical side of the game is much more important at this level than in Juniors or College.
  14. I agree that Guhle can skate like anything, but I DVR'd the two preseason games that were on NHL Network and if you watch carefully you'll see that Guhle is lost in his own zone at times. He was on the ice for two goals against in the Toronto and Ottawa games and looked really bad on those goals. I see a kid who has a ton of NHL potential, but no way should he be fast tracked to the NHL when guys like Rudy, McCabe and Donovan already have NHL experience.
  15. I live in Germantown/Salemtown where the festival is taking place. Hit me up. A few other SabreSpacers will be in town for the weekend as well. http://thenashvilleoktoberfest.com/
  16. Those of us with Virginia Tech season tickets knew what Tyrod was long before he was "discovered" by Bills fans. What we've seen over three games is what he has been since high school. Throw out the stats (which are great, of course). The kid wins ballgames. That is all that matters.
  17. The Bills have the Giants at home next week. Then the Bills are down here in Nashville in two weeks to play the Titans. Huge contingent of Bills fans will be there, including some SabreSpacers.
