Of course Pekka is better than Lehner. But, there is absolutely zero chance Nashville would want Bogosian and that absurd contract. Zero.

Bogo hasn't played a full season since he was a teenager playing for the Atlanta Thrashers. 60-65 games seems to be about the best case scenario.

Pommer and Bogo are two contracts we're pretty much stuck with. No team will take those cap hits.

Bogo's contract is absurd given he plays 20 games per season and doesn't produce when healthy. $6 million per year for Glass Bo? Can he even be bought out? ...guess we're stuck with him until he gets hurt in November. Larsson isn't an NHLer. I actually kind of like Girgs as a defensive forward. He'd be a better 4th line center than Larsson IMHO.

Mostly instrumental, ambient, textural, emotion-laden, .... not sure exactly how to describe post-rock. I like Hammock, This Will Destroy You, God Is An Astronaut, Unwed Sailor, Mogwai, and several others. Brian Eno fits the genre. Definitely good background music. Best with headphones.

I think Hammock (based in Nashville) is my favorite band within the post-rock genre...

When you spot the other team two soft goals within the first 10 minutes the entire game plan changes. The Jets played bunker "5 guys in front of the net" hockey the rest of the game after the two early goals. Pekka blew game 1 as well with soft goals. As a Preds fan I'm ready for Saros to become the #1 in net.

Blah. I'll root for the Jets. They've had a lot of years of misery as a fan base.

I really believe Pekka cost the Preds a legit chance at winning the Cup last year. The Preds absolutely dominated Pittsburgh in Game 1. Pekka let in a couple softies on the few shots he faced and that was that. ..looks like I won't be in Nashville for Game 1 and 2 of the Vegas series. *sigh*

Having seen both of them play a ton, I think Saros is better than Pekka. Rinne will steal a game then single-handedly lose a game. Saros is pretty much always the same. He'll stop what he is supposed to stop. IMHO, I'll take that over spectacular one game then awful the next (see Lehner, Robin).

This is why Pekka has never won a Cup. Too up-and-down, especially in the playoffs. ...PK from the point! My longtime complaint about the league... just call interference once in a while and I'll be happy.

When you have the longest playoff drought of any team in the NFL, yes it is a goal. Beane was quick to recognize that a guy like Tyrod could get us to the playoffs ("flash in the pan") but could never win us a Super Bowl. So, he took a chance at taking the team in a different direction, even if that means a step back this season ("long term solution"). I like that line of thinking. Other than Andrew Luck I can't think of any QB drafted in the last decade who was/is a sure thing. People have been hammering the Allen choice both here and on TBD... but none of the top QBs in this draft are a sure thing.

I haven't kept up with it too much, but why is it such a bad thing for a highly competitive guy to say that he is sick of losing and that all the losing has worn him down and eroded his love for the game? Seems to me that it is a very honest statement by a guy who is/was legitimately frustrated... that has now morphed into "he is a problem in the locker room."

If your argument is that, like Joey, Samson should be traded at age 23 for a Seth Jones-type defenseman then I agree completely!

I'll go against the prevailing sentiment and say that I'd trade Reinhart in a second if the right deal is available. He's one of the few guys on the roster who could bring a good return in a trade, and in doing so would shake up the chemistry of this awful team. (Risto could bring a good return too, but defensemen are a lot harder to find than scoring wingers) I look at Reinhart and just don't see the sort of winger that I see on the top teams (e.g., the 5 that are still alive for the Cup). He's a kid who has nice hands around the net for sure... but I don't see the grit and determination in him that I think it takes to win in the playoffs, when time and space are at a premium and the game becomes much more physical. I don't think he's all that great defensively (which is obviously why he isn't at Center). And, on some level, I think you either have that win at all costs "fire" or you don't. Does he have it?

I expect a big year out of Phil Ovechkin
