At one time in Escondido California they had a traffic camera at a yielding left turn light. You could only imagine the panic that went on. However once you captured the intersection on the green even if the light went red the camera wouldn't go off because you were out there past the sensor when it was green. People would just gun it, cutting people off, crazy! Thankfully they ended up getting rid of cameras in CA when they weren't making enough money to justify expense.

Many lights in Idaho, you're in the turn lane at a red (it has a green turn arrow), but it flashes yellow when it changes, not green. So... You wait at the red, a ton of traffic goes on other side when it goes green. You have a flashing yellow arrow (yield), then it goes green arrow 🙄 Basically waiting 2 light cycles. It's definitely not Bum F*** Idaho here anymore. The infrastructure has been way out paced by the population growth 🤷‍♂️

I taught driving for years, yes still alive to talk about it. You have to check the state. In Idaho I was very surprised to learn capturing the intersection is illegal. California, NY capturing is allowed. I think that's very dumb, but I've had to adjust my lifetime habit so as not to get a stupid ticket.
