Welp … this feels like a moment. A bad one. This is a bad day in this franchise’s history. The vibe went from comically frustrated / exasperated to just straight up dark.

They’re a frickin AHL team. Some high end talent but these are boys getting manhandled and now they’re cowering. Sad af

I mean just add this to the list of Kevin’s miscalculations. You can’t expect an entire team to grow up in the league. It’s a grown up league, not a developmental one. Half these guys should be maturing in the AHL.

All of that evaporated. They’re totally numb and going through the motions. They definitely know they can’t execute what Ruff wants and now they’re checking out.

Absolutely not. I don’t think anyone should go to games at this point. They need to fire Kevin. His plan did not work and will not work.

Very good point, but…they did identify and go after Josh hard. We have to acknowledge that. They put their full belief into Josh and getting him after identifying him as a potentially franchise altering player. It’s definitely the worst game this year. I’ve watched them all and they don’t even look like they’re trying.

It’s honestly possible. Lindy cannot turn this around. It’s over.

That’s genuinely what it looks like because what else could they be trying to achieve? Firing Ruff? Getting Kevin fired? Why they’ve been paid and they’re not really at risk of being sat. No they want to get traded and hope that the Sabres pay for their contract on the way out.

I think every time I watch the Sabres take the ice. It really just becomes clear that he got very lucky with Beane and Sean McDermott. And obviously I’m grateful for that luck, but it really is due to luck and not due to Terry’s ability to discern who is a good GM and Coach and who isn’t Haha I could see that

The worst part is that they have put us in a position where we are forced to make it more likely that our team could possibly ever leave the city. People can say oh well if you don’t show up, that’s the risk but we don’t have a product that is worth any sort of energy or our money. I don’t think most of us would actually go to the arena if somebody paid us at least at this point. So it’s just another strike against the current regime that they’ve made us so disillusioned we are going to put our own team at risk.

My feeling on this is we have to let go of the idea that our Young higher value guys still have that value for us. They will never be anything in Buffalo because we need a full rebuild. So what we need to do is ship them out for as much value as we can get right now and just accept that that value will never translate in Buffalo. But the value that we get in return could help a rebuild with a competent person running it. No, it won’t be pleasant to unload these assets, but they are not destined to work out in Buffalo so we might as well get as much as we can get them right now.

I cannot believe this is our team. One of the best hockey cities in the world. And this is our team.

Honestly same. Literally NEVER could get close to adopting a ‘second team’ but this franchise just ruined hockey for me almost. I enjoy watching the Panthers. Before this I never watched a non-Bills or non-Sabres team

Brandon Beane could do a better job year one I think. Maybe I’m talking crazy, but I trust his ability to vet players over anyone involved w the Sabres rn.

Another massive flaw in Kevin’s master plan is you can say that you are going to endure some rough stretches and tough years as the young guys mature into what you think they can be, but they might not become that if they are absolutely destroyed mentally before you even get close to seeing your plan come to fruition.
