Idemo Buffalo

I will stick to hockey from now on, but that isn't mocking anyone. That was about the general "loser" mentality that people have about the Buffalo Sabres. Same thing happened with the Bills after 17 years of the drought. There are certain people that are constantly negative about the Sabres, and it is a habit that was created over 13 years. Habits are not easy to break. Especially 13 year old habits. I get negativity in April if they miss the playoffs, but this early season negativity is nonsense. Especially the criticism of guys like Dahlin and Cozens.

Cozens played well. He hits the empty net and he is all of the sudden the hero of the Sabres. lol. It is only 8 games in a new system. Cozens will be fine. He is a very good player.

Cozens played better and Dahlin is clearly getting healthy. When those two get going and our PP gets going, we are going to be a tough team to beat.

Might change by the end of the night, but the Sabres are sitting in playoff spot right now.

At 9:33PM on 10/22/24 The Buffalo Sabres hold the 1st wild card spot. We are currently in the playoffs.

Great efforts by those three, but that was the definition of a team win.

Get used to these stressful games. We are going to the playoffs baby.

No need to panic. We have a 1 goal lead with 2 minutes left. Would have signed up for that prior to tonight.

Not just goaltending. Team is playing good defense too.

Team is playing really well defensively. Lindy Ruff is our coach and Rasmus Dahlin our Captain. They are winners. Total faith in them.

Yeah a 4-2 terrible team with wins against NJ, LA, TB, and the Penguins. lol

They are a good hockey team. Period. They are in a new system, with a new coach, had to travel to Europe, and their best player has been banged up. They lost a game in OT to the Penguins and a game to a Columbus team that is blowing out Toronto 4-0 right now. Everyone lost faith and were questioning Lindy and Dahlin. Absolutely ridiculous.

Going to be hard for some of the posters here to admit it, but the Sabres are a good hockey team.

They are the same team. it just takes time to figure things out in a new system with a new coach. The lack of patience from Sabres fans is ridiculous.

There are no terrible teams. This is the NHL. Just look at how Columbus is beating Toronto 3-0 right now.

It is a hard homestand. I think 6 points is probably best case scenario. If they only get 4 or 5 but play really well, I won't complain. Lot of hockey left in the season. I am hopeful we can win 3 of the 4.

You are right. Sorry. I originally was posting 8 points available on the 4 game homestand and just condensed it incorrectly.

It is a 4 game homestand. Stars, Wings, Panthers, and Islanders. Only 8 points available. 4-0. 3-1. 2-0-2. Any combination would be 6 points.

8 game homestand. 6 points will be successful in my opinion. Getting 2 tonight would make that task a lot easier. Getting to 5-5-1 should be the goal for this 4 game homestand.

If a coach says publicly a player is not 100% it means his game is being hampered by an injury. If he was "hurt" he wouldn't be on the ice. If you had to quantify it, most guys might be playing at 90-95% health but a guy like Dahlin is probably playing at 70-75%. In professional sports that is noticeable. If Dahlin does not improve over the next 2 weeks he probably will find himself taking a few games off, but trainers/doctors know which injuries guys can play through and still get better and which injuries only heal with time off.

Fair point. I am not a Rodgers fan, and don't agree with some of his views, but the attacks on him are clearly personal. He just threw for nearly 300 yards against us and had 2 TD's and he did it with a terrible receiving corp. That was one of the best performances by any QB against us this year. If you don't see that, you are not being objective or you don't know football. I think people should be very careful about attacking him too, considering he is fully capable of coming up to Western NY in December and beating us and costing us a #1 seed, which is crucial this year. We don't want to have to face Baltimore and KC. We want them to face each other in the 2nd round.

Rodgers is better than almost all of them if he has their offensive lines. BTW, If you think Carr, Hurts, and Murray are better than Rodgers you are nuts. This won't matter anyway. We will see Rodgers again in December and Roders and the Jets likely will be the darlings of the league on a 7 of 8 winning streak before we crush their dreams. I still wouldn't count them out of making the playoffs because their schedule is very favorable if they win their home games.
