Agreed, but the Sabres need to learn to dominate on their home ice. They have done ok on the road, the last two years, but you can't be 17-20-4 and 21-19-1 on your own home ice. Those home records are not getting them to the playoffs. They need to grab 60 points at home. -

On a weekday? Maybe sometime in March before it is consistently packed and that is if they are really in a playoff spot. Weeknights are tough for a lot of people and inflation has hit a lot of people pretty hard. As for the weekends, it will be full this Friday night against the Islanders, and full for Calgary and Montreal on Veterans Day weekend. Fans will come back if they win. They always have. -

Winning the first two of the homestand takes a lot of pressure off here. Sabres have to play well, but not necessarily win. A win gives us the 6 points we want out of this 4 game homestand and sends a message that the Sabres are a legit threat to grab 1 of the top 3 spots in the Atlantic. The formula to the playoffs is still playing .500 hockey on the road and winning 3 out of every 4 at home. -
I don't care if you like Hochul or not, be she explains it here. She is 100% correct. The Bills were gone if the money was not kicked in and the state gets their money back just in taxes on player salaries in 17 years or earlier with how quickly salaries are increasing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZjNchbiOVQ

Very unusual to not see them in the Wild Card Standings. Great feeling.

Dahlin is quite popular. IMO Tage is probably the most popular and the local guy Tuch is right there. Not surprising. UPL is actually quite popular too. Dahlin is he is a defensive player, even if he is an offensive/defensive player. Goal scorers get the glory. Dahlin will become quite popular when he becomes the first Sabres player to ever hoist the Stanley Cup.

You know nothing. Rasmus is very well liked and even has Zach Benson living in his house. He is the leader and guys who don't want to work hard are not going to fit in a Lindy/Dahlin Sabres locker room. This isn't the Granato/Okposo Sabres where everyone accepts losing and makes excuses for the poor leadership. And Okposo and Granato are good guys, they just weren't leaders. One was way past his prime and the other was out of his league coaching in the NHL. There has to be accountability in professional sports. That is what Ruff and Dahlin bring to the Sabres.

Last year they were 39-37-6. Year before they were 42-33-7. You can spin those as winning seasons if you are a positive person, and will spin those as losing seasons if you are a negative person. I like to think of both of them as winning seasons.

A. The Bills have had five straight winning seasons. The Sabres have had 2 straight winning seasons. So I will say that is 7 straight, but definitely not ZERO. B. The Taxpayers are paying for $850M of the Stadium. As the governor said, they state gets back substantially more over the 30 year period, just in taxes on salaries. That doesn't include all the hotels, restaurants, construction, etc jobs. C. He found a guy who has taken team to the Stanley Cup finals and the playoffs, multiple times. D. The Sabres have only $8M available under the cap and are young. The roster/cap is very well constructed for a young team with players that are going to need to be paid at some point.

Not interested in the opinion of a guy who kept the two professional sports team in Buffalo, or the guy who has the Bills in the playoffs every year, or the guy who is building a new stadium and is upgrading the arena? The Sabres and Bills have now combined for 7 straight winning seasons. The Bills did not make the playoffs for 17 straight years and now they have won 4 AFC East titles in a row. There is no reason to think the Sabres won't start being an Atlantic powerhouse that makes the playoffs every year. They are young, have a ton of talent, and finally found a coach. Future is very bright.

Sorry about that. Everyone has their right to their opinion. -
2 of his 3 assists today were beautiful plays. He obviously is banged up but improving but he is the Captain and he leads by example. Some players respond to the vocal captains and some don't, but they all respond to captains that lead by example. Players know who is playing with significant injuries, especially when they already got their big contract. This team particularly needed learn how to toughen up and play when things get difficult. Lindy and Dahlin have changed the culture of the Sabres. The goatheads also give them a little extra edge. Sports are really mental.

Think they will coming out on a weekly basis. If they keep playing well they should be interesting. These guys have good access to the coach, front-office, and players. Not sure about the owner, but if the Sabres keep playing well I will not be shocked if Terry Pegula jumped on their podcast.

I did get excited about he playoffs but never thought that was a particularly good team. Nobody really did. It wasn't well coached. Housley was a nice guy with little to no real coaching experience. The team was 20 games below .500 the year before. This is different. This team is very well coached and this team is coming off back to back winning seasons and the year when Tage was healthy was almost 10 game over .500. I think with Tage healthy this year, Dahlin significantly more experienced and the additions they made in the off season, this is a legitimate threat to not only make the playoffs, but to win series in the playoffs. -

http://Thompson extends point streak to 6 games, leads Sabres to 3rd straight win | Buffalo Sabres “I’ve been here a while now and we’ve been with a lot of the same guys,” Thompson said. “I think just that hunger to win – we’ve learned kind the hard way that these games in the beginning of the season, even though it’s a long season, they add up towards the end.” “We’ve been playing some really good hockey from the start of the season,” Thompson said. “Obviously, we had a couple ones we’d like to have back, but 82 games, long season, you get into a rhythm and start stringing some wins together, it’s a big thing for us.” -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5IhiQQge6g The podcast is on youtube. It is actually quite good. Makes some good points about the toll the European trip took on Sabres and how the Devils didn't have the same problem of having been on the road trip in Europe for so long. The podcast has "good pace" just like the Sabres.

Attendance is in the Event Summary link on the right side of your link. 15K. It was pretty full, so that number is probably pretty close to accurate. https://www.nhl.com/scores/htmlreports/20242025/ES020122.HTM (attendance right at the top) -

His post clearly indicated he doesn't understand the importance of winning streaks or the importance of October hockey. If those 17k posts have happened over the last 13 years he might be a little jaded. This is the best Sabres team since 2011. Pretty obvious. -

You obviously don't understand how important winning streaks (and losing streaks) are for a team's confidence, especially early on in the year. -
