Here is where I get concerned... 1 year deal, do we trade those assets away for a 1 year rental... if you do the deal it needs to come with a contract extension. I personally would be reluctant to trade Helenius, I honestly see his attitude as part of a solution... I am not saying i wouldnt but I would really need to be sold on the player...

I agree, I do think that if this structure fails Adams is probably gone... in fact I might say 1 foot out the door.. the question will be does Pegula relinquesh control and if he doesnt does Jarmo stay?

No this doesnt make me have faith that we will do a good job drafting nor make the team markedly better... but i do like the idea of using the resources available to aid a process.... I can only imagine how crazy things are on draft days, draft boards, watching other teams boards seeing who they may take, talking trades, reprioritizing players, etc... all with a time deadline anything they can do to ease communication obstacles etc I am sure would be welcomed in the draft room... costs them nothing... solid move even if it is just to give them a bit more sanity on draft day.

LOL... ok maybe thats a bit much.... but you all get the point.

I think after reading this its shows that there is nothing different going on than we have been opining on for a long long time... Pegula meddles, doesnt really care, outside of needing his ego boosted by oking routine decisions. Has Adams because Adams is just thankful to be here and allows Pegula to run the team... we are on a hamster wheel going round and round with no real change in sight... and the overall ineptness of this structure is driving consequential talent away and preventing others from walking thru the gates of hades to commence their suffering... Bottom line nothing changes until Pegula sells... or drastically changes his overall structure from Scouting right thru running the team... effectively, this is like calling an exterminator to a home ridden with termites in hopes of remediating the problem... his advice is the only way to fix the problem is to burn the house to ground.... and that is where we sit... the only fix is to burn the front office structure to the ground and bring in people that are qualified professionals.... this I fear means TP has to sell... but who knows maybe he comes around to understand what we have all known for years and years and years...

How could this level of ineptitude not drive the core away... I am shocked its only 25%, I would say if you are a player and you are happy with the direction of the team that would give me pause... I suspect there are a lot of players but most arent talking.

So I am in 100% agreement, in a normal circumstance we are not looking for the owner to be out there twice a year talking about his team... but after 14 years of abject failure and his brand reduced to a pile of steaming rubble, I feel like if I were the owner I would want to be out there trying to bolster my brand and let my fans know that I care... but thats me... Pegula is not that way, he is very awkward speaking and is clearly not comfortable... throw Harrington in there LOL and he is not gonna do it... I think its a case of the longer this goes on with the failure and Radio Silence the harder it is for him to get out and talk... I think the next time will be a with an inevitable sweeping change announcement... but who knows when that will happen... 6 months 2 years... who knows...

Oh you wont get me to disagree with that... but we are talking Kevyn Adams who let this get to this point... If Peterka is adamant about not coming back then literally he may be only left with the option of letting him get offer sheeted and walk for picks... The other option is to trade a restricted FA before the draft and what are you gonna get for that... not to mention the no trade clauses he has to deal with.... and if you trade him there is a really good shot you watch the team you traded him to let him go via Free Agency and get 2 or 3 1st rd picks as you are walking away with another Josh Norris or Malenstyn... Now, if he can trade him and get a 27 year old two way player that comes in and helps us etc better than Peterka and for what we are willing to pay Peterka... awesome... but how likely is that to happen... I feel like we let him get offer sheeted and take the picks... or Trade him for less than market value and get a typical Adams return... which is likely to be an aging veteran like Zucker or a mid range player like Malenstyn or a flawed prospect that is younger than 27... maybe I am dead wrong but lets see how this plays out... I am picking the worst possible scenario with Adams at the helm... sorry if I am too jaded at this point.

agreed.... but if we dont match him he leaves... and it sounds like we are not even ball park what he wants and if he really wants he can clamor for a trade... and that makes a whole other pile of stew... ultimately I think Adams lets him sign a FA tender doesnt match and takes the picks... it may be the best he can hope for...
