Aside from Dahlin (which I am not sure I totally disagree with you, on the generational thing) We are thinking the exact same thing... if they trade Tuch unrealistic that they are getting anything more than an expendable player, picks and prospects for him because whomever is trading for him is look to improve on a playoff run... they are not breaking their team down... so unless the player is expendable not happening... With respect TO Tuch, agreed, I like him and we could use several like him... but I am not going to preclude trading him if we make our team instantly better... like he is a piece of a package that we trade away to get the superior player... At this point our hockey trades should be TO obtain the superior player, not hope for the future... With respect to player for pick and prospect... I think that is the likely outcome of this trade season... it will be a mistake to use this strategy as a rebuilding plan... rinse wash repeat... but our GM and dysfunctional organization is likely to do this... from my perspective with players that we should resign like Greenway and Zucker but know that they are not going to do it.... so they will trade them away so they can be successful elsewhere and we will get a faint hope for them that may or may not payoff somewhere in the future because we are that inept... With respect to Dahlin... I see him as better than a top 6 2nd or 3rd pairing D... but thats just me...

Sabres being overly cautious means... they have no answers, no will and no competence to do what is right... the GM in its existing form simply cannot withstand a complete tear down of the cesspool that he has built and another 3 years of last place finishes while he is entrusted to rebuilt what he demonstrated so clearly his is incapable of building... and will be gone... or that he has gotten word from Pegula that he is not to trade assets combined with the above.... this is what would happen with a functional organization... but... we have the Sabres... so... We like our team and GM and we are sticking with the plan just need a little more time and have full confidence in KA and are going to run him back with the same team with the exception of trading "to be" Free agents for picks and prospects is also a very legitimate and likely scenario...

I actually like Tuch but I dont want to be hypocritical, he isnt a generational talent like Dahlin and I am in the we lose with you we can lose without you mentality... so I have no issue trading Tuch for the right return... problem is at this juncture you are not going to get a right return... the team trading for Tuch is looking for a moderately gritty larger body that can take a 2 or 3 line Wing as they make a push for the playoffs... they are not looking to devoid themselves of game changing talent or firepower in the process... unless you have a team that is so overloaded on D that they are willing to part with a top 4 Dman... then you might get a player. But how many playoff teams are parting with top 4 Dman before the playoffs... so... to me... (as with any trade you make) you are getting a pick and a prospect... rinse wash repeat...

There is no doubt in my mind that this needs to be nuked... again.... the question is will they? And do you finally bring in competence... If both answers arent yes... then its the pit of misery dilly dilly for the forseeable future... problem is that if he doesnt literally, no one is showing up to buy tickets... our arena will look like the KC Scouts arena in 1976... and the only hope is that the NHL steps in... almost like they did a control board for the city of Buffalo 15 years ago...

I agree totally, but want to push this a bit farther, I think they already have zero credibility... like none... I laugh when I hear well give it time... it doesnt happen over night.... etc... reality is uhm... the dredges of the league have been playoff teams and cup winners... fallen into disrepair, rebuilt their teams to out pace you... in the time it has take you to get to the same place you have been over the past 14 years... you now dont need to await the down fall of the top teams you have to compete with the up and coming teams that are going to start to rule the roost and you are no where near where they are at... so zero credibility is nice... I go with literally hopeless despair... and that is if you get rid of Adams... if you do and bring in the right people... you may peek over the top of hopeless despair... but 1% credibility is years away... the levels of ineptitude and mismanagement in this organization are so profound I simply have not seen their equal...

at this point I am wondering if we simply have not ruined Benson... I am not sure I am seeing improvement out of him this year... I would have suspected it would... but he looks like he is on pace to score a similar amount of points this year as he did in his 18 yr old rookie season... not that I would trade him, but my hope for him is diminishing at this point the longer he is in this dysfunctional cesspool of lazy inept losers... similar to Quinn and Cozens... etc...

especially after watching the 4 nations... it really drives home just how unwatchable this team is...

I suspect it will be another listless day where we do nothing to improve our team and target players with a bit of grit that occasionaly initiate physical contact to ship out for draft picks... So... Greenway, Zucker, Malenstyns of the world etc... and then run it back for the rest of the year... we are certainly not going to be buyers being last place in the conference... so I suppose we just get raided again and make our current and future competition better like we do every year.

Not sure I am with you here... they are in last place in the conference... look like they have regressed from last year and the dredges of the Conference... Ottawa, Montreal, Detroit are all improving... I am not sure we are that close... and then the big thing is... lets say you get in at some point... this team will suffer PTSD if they have to go thru 4 games of playoff hockey .... they are not built for it... I think the other piece is, it that what our hearts desire is... a playoff appearance and a 4-1 1st round ouster... that doesnt sound like success to me... but... I get it, its a start... I just have no faith that they even understand how to build a team prepared to compete every year for a cup...

Mediocraty gets you in the playoffs most years as half of the teams make it.... more like abject ineptitude...

In watching the 4 Nations play... it occurred to me this is what hockey is supposed to be... mind you there is no way you can play an 82 game schedule and playoffs that intense... and there is no way you can approximate that talent on every team... but by and large... the physicality, intensity, sheer will to battle and sell out for every loose puck and face off... was just amazing... and really illustrates just how weak and soft the Sabres are... I just cannot imagine them in their current form actually playing in the playoffs when the level of intensity is similar... I think they would end up with shell shock and never recover... I would put in an LOL... but I think I am kinda serious here...

I also think for Quinn I am going off the name train... and breaking out "Its a miracle" by Barry Manilow... just sayin... LOL and maybe for Muel I am dropping some Tom Petty... Even the losers...
