Ok... this is really not likely... however, just interested from a speculation standpoint... what/who would you trade to get McDavid that Edmonton would accept. Like literally, Dahlin, Thompson, and 3 1sts? Like what do you think it would take.

I dont care if they do or dont tbh I just dont think it is in the history of the NHL to do it... and I think at least at first it would start a lot of fights lol... I think the Foligno leap was the most expansive celebration out side of Tie Domi riding his stick... but I do think he got challenged for that one..

I have a bit more pointed opinion towards the Front office and their ineptitude... bottom line Credibility needs to be rebuilt to attract players, Terry can start with not taking on Soccer Execs and Marketing Majors to run the team... starting with a POHO and a GM who has won, drafting needs to include players who play hockey, not figure skaters that can score, or another Dman that can rush the puck, there needs to be balance in the mix of players, and yes trades... after you get the current FO out and a competent FO with a vision has a chance to assess... No trading when you are in a prone position of absolute weakness by a GM whose vision is not a competent one, who doesnt believe in our region (despite the fact he is from here) and just had a hissy fit because he is feeling the pressure... No good can come of that.... this year to me is another waste... get a new regime in here... let them use the last half of the season to try to improve and assess.... then make competent moves that align with a competent vision when you are not so desperate with a GM trying to save his job.

Yes but I occasionally witnessed Risto initiate physical contact... I am not sure I have ever seen power not curl up in the fetal position at the prospect of getting hit and doing a little canadian turn when its his turn to engage... He is Mike Wilson who is worse defensively.

Nevermind I get it now... you are saying I have hated our drafting so why would I want Darcy to get 4 1st rd picks instead of keeping Vanek... i would say I liked Vanek as a scorer I never thought he was a leader and was one dimensional. At the time Edmonton was bad and we weren't in a 14 year death spiral. I believed the very high picks that Vanek would have gotten us would help rebuild/re tool the team more than Vanek would have after losing Drury and Briere... you disagree fine plenty did ... but others agreed... bottom line we will never know. But I do know that that year started us on our way to this death spiral .... i think also I hated the way Drury and Briere were handled even before and leading up to their contracts by Darcy and ownership

This is not an unfair assessment... not gonna lie... but I did not like him... and also dont forget Rigas was even worse than Golisano... I think I hated him because he didnt find a way to retain Briere and Drury and then matched the Vanek offer instead of taking the 4 1st round picks from Edmonton which would have been a gold mine.

This I agree with... I think people want him to sell because they dont believe he will do this (what you said)... as well as they dont believe he wont interfere... but the bottom line is he is an owner with extensive resources... if that is his role in the organization and he eradicates the FO and brings in competent people including an extremely credible POHO that would begin the process of restoration of reputation and a GM that is highly competent then that works for me... but as long as he recycles the incestuous failing FO and internally precipitates the stench that is this organization to right the ship... the failure will continue and get much worse...

We are one loss closer to the inevitable exit of KA... may take 10 more seasons of losses... but we are 1 closer... baby steps...

Literally back to Reiger who I hated... when have we drafted a superstar and the very few who are we have traded away and are worse as a team because we have.... and its not even in the 1st round... just over all, where are the players in rds 2 thru 5 that make that serious impact... other teams do it... we have not done it in decades at least in any meaningful way.

I get what you are saying... but over a 1/3 of the way into the season I think they need to have an amazing finish to the season to get 59 points in in 53 games...I am realistically thinking that this is a 70pt team at best... but you never know..

Not a chance tape is too expensive and might lead to actually making a good pick... they are gonna revolutionize scouting... going to listening to pod casts with play by play highlights as their prime scouting focus....

Oh I think we are on the same page... Adams is the lightning rod because he presides over this mess... I mean factually Pegula is the ultimate lightning rod because he presides over the entire organization. I am for a complete house cleaning of the FO... (I am fine at this point if Ruff stays) my point is I don't want anyone internally in this organization doing anything with anybody. I want to see ultimately Pegual sell the team to someone who will keep it here (no guarantee on that) or cede control to a competent Team President and GM and gut the FO let them hire their people and assess the talent. To me this year is a waste and trading from a position of desperation is never good. So we are not so far apart. Now ask me if I think that will happen... lol not really I think we will get more of the same trash
