GDT Buffalo Sabres @ Florida Panthers Sat. 4/13 5pm ESPN+ MSG & WGR Radio
SabreFinn replied to HOUSE's topic in The Aud Club
Agree. I think he will be a really good player but it will take more time than us fans was hoping for. Is the problems a cause of him being another player rushed?? I can't tell. A wise rule for Adams to keep in mind would be to not sign young players rushed into this league to long term contracts. As it seems Vegas will not afford to resign Stephenson, I think a second line with Benson - Stephenson - Cozens could be what we need. And Cozens as a winger would not expose his biggest weekness and give him time to work on that next to a two time cup-winner. -
Arizona Coyotes are relocating to Utah as Utah HC (hockey club)
SabreFinn replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
The players doesn't seem to be bothered about the move, they have been playing better lately. -
Helenius assisting on Finlands second goal in a pre wc -game against last years medalist Latvia tonight. A 3-2 ot win for Finland.

Oh, right. An assistant coach as headcoach? Ellis? 🤣

So the answer to our problems are a Skinner buyout and getting a big RHD like Hamilton. Easy!!

Biggest Sabres issue - losing the 1st period badly too often
SabreFinn replied to Big Guava's topic in The Aud Club
Adams and Granato is not going anywhere. The Mitts/Byram trade took the chances of reaching playoff imo. and that is on Adams and he will not fire Granato because of that. He probably would not have done it anyway, but definitely not now. And if you get paid millions as a player, you are ready to play and ready to compete when the puck drops. Does not matter if you are 18 or 35. They definitely know that also. It is on the players, not on the coach. Then there might be some routines and ways they prepare themselves as a team that is not suitable. But to me it has looked like individual weakness more than a team thing. But I agree that this along with inconsistency is what is keeping the team outside of playoff. -
Byram for Parayko? I do not think we even should dream of getting B Tkachuk.

Question about left handed vs right handed shot
SabreFinn replied to gilbert11's topic in The Aud Club
On my sons team there are not even one player playing right, they are all left. I just put a stick in his hand and let him play the way that is more natural for him. But I think it is easy to learn a kid one way or the other and since most players here play left, I think I could have improved his chanses to make a career by putting a right stick in his hands and learned him play with that. But I am sure he would not make a living out of hockey either way. -
Bridge. Not because I don't believe he will be a good player, but I think they should be more careful with long-term signings. And it is possible to resign him long-termlater.

I am interested in the norwegian Brandsegg Nygard, norwegians are usually hard to compete and it seems like he is also. But having him ranked as high as he is tells that it is a weak draft this year. Helenius is joining team Finlands roster att their first camp heading to WC. Not many that age has done that. Sabres prospect Viljami Marjala will also participate.

Players that should NOT be on this team next year
SabreFinn replied to WhenWillItEnd66's topic in The Aud Club
I have never looked at shotpercentage, so this was a good post from a view I do not look at stats. Can you tell more about the league average percentage? The shot percentage that Col and Van has seems very high to me. And the Sabres low. -
If Martin StLouis became a star in the league, so can he. Hard work and a hard head, that has taken a lot of players with less talent than him pretty far.
-
And Trotz got rid of Duchene and Johansen. It is common sense, work hard or leave.

Players that should NOT be on this team next year
SabreFinn replied to WhenWillItEnd66's topic in The Aud Club
I am all in on getting rid of Skinner. Jost, Olofsson will be gone. Krebs, Girgensons and Robinson, I am not against them to be extended, but Adams should try to find better players that can improve the team Before he gives a contract extension. But there are better run franchises with cap looking for same type of players. We can't trade away Power because of a second year slump. That if something will bite our *****. Even if seeing his play along the boards is frustrating. Byram is earning less money and is a cup-winner, meaning he is the one that can bring us a top six center or winger, with years left on the contract, or looking for a less salary than Mitts. -
Nice mustache! Not a Middleton mustache, but nice. I sure would like Middeltons mustache in a Sabres line-up.

Funny thing is that when Rantanen came to play for team Finland in IIHF WC he did not play near as good as expected, a reason was believed that the ice time was shared more equally in team Finland and he never found the right pace in his game. Even being a Sabre fan, My favourite player is Sebastian Aho. As you said the Canes roll 4 lines with small differenses in ice time. What impresses me with Aho is how much points he makes and how much more points than the player with second most points on the team he has.

Do You Think We Make The Playoffs NEXT Year?
SabreFinn replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
The offseason is the key to success. There is a lot to be done during the summer. The contracted players need to take their summer practice serious and they need to get the right advises on what to work on. The GM needs to find and get the missing pieces, and that is a job much harder than summer practice as a player. There are some really big decisions to be made of some of the players on current roster also, Krebs, Skinner, Byram. And yes, I mentioned Byram again, the team is not in balance and they played better the weeks before trade deadline than they do now. Granato needs a long vacation. And new assistans. They will make the playoff next year. I still have the faith. -
Kevyn and Don, should we really expect more after four years?
SabreFinn replied to tom webster's topic in The Aud Club
I Still do have trust in Kevyn and Don. The team that they took over was both tortured and abused and the worst ever seen in NHL. It had been pushed under the surface, pulled up and then pushed under again. Not many would even consider to take over a team like that. Four years is a long time in business and the lenght of the playoff draught is horribel, and most of the fanbase is upset and irritated. Still except for this year it has been progress (in some specific areas also this year). But with a young team the progress is not linear and to me another missed playoff was to expect, even if there is so much hope and expectations. It was not the best way with a rookie GM, a rookie coach, the youngest team and a team captain without much winning experience. But if that was what we got, then what can we do. When it comes to next season, my strong opinion is that if they are not in a playoff-spot at Thanksgiving, Granato has to go. -
Do we have a single prospect that will be any good next year?
SabreFinn replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
Think Byram has a thing or two to tell about eating also. What I 've heard MacKinnon is obsessed with eating also, watching and demanding everyone to eat right. -
Do we have a single prospect that will be any good next year?
SabreFinn replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
It seems like we got most of the pieces but we haven't got them to fit together. I Still have a good feeling about next year. -
Do we have a single prospect that will be any good next year?
SabreFinn replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
We now have a high class goalie, a mobile and talented defense, TNT is capabel of scoring 40 goals and I think a healthy and older Kid line is abel to cause damage. I believe our stocks on the UFA-market are rising and a second or third line UFA-forward see that they might be the missing piece in a succesful team. Even if that team are the Sabres. -

SabreFinn replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
I can't see anyone of them to take place on a Sabres roster next year, and there is no need to rush either. The holes we have should be filled with UFA:s or trades. But if a prospect is ready to take a spot at camp it would be great. Meaning if someone can show a good mature twoway play they should get a spot at the fourth line. -
Might be Reinhart gets so much money in his next deal that Panthers have to let Lundell go. Maurice told the players came to camp and pushed harder than the coaches demanded, well, Lundell is that kind of guy. And Panthers definitely wont let him walk cheap and they will try everything to keep him. But it might be more suitable for them to replace him with a cheaper top prospect. If that is the case, I hope Adams give what they ask for him.

Sabres to open 2024-25 Season in Prague against the Devils
SabreFinn replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Funny you mentioned sauna, I am actually right now planning a new sauna for our summerhouse. Summer, sauna and swimming in the lake, it does not get much better than that. I forgive you for being unfaithful, a lot of Finnish products and brands are manufactured elsewhere also. I hope you get a good sauna and nice sauna-moments! -
