  1. The goalie situation is difficult, in many ways. Are we keeping Luukkonen, keeping Reimer as back-up, or bringing in a Jake Allen or Husso or perhaps Lyon as help? Or are we trading or bying out Luukkonen and bringing in a Demko or Gibson and going with Levi as back-up? I think those two scenarios take pretty much the same cap space (depending on who back up Luukkonen). And Peterkas next contract will put us close to maximum cap. I am really hoping they bring in Tanner Jeannot, or a similar, to bring toughness and competition to the bottom six. I would like to see the real retooling on defense. Dahlin is the only player I like there. I guess it is impossible to trade everyone else, but I would at least move some big pieces. I think a Power for Dobson trade would not raise the cap much. I would send Byram to Sharks for Ferraro and pick(s). Samuelsson is tricky, maybe I still keep him... I wait and see how that works. There are lots of draft picks left to use if there is a need to half way in to next season. Unfortunately there would need some creativity to stay cap complient. I would re-sign McLeod, JBD, Kozak and Quinn, Quinn on a one year bridge deal. In the Power for Dobson trade I would also try to get Eisermans rights. And I hope we can draft O'Brien. Those two together with Benson might give the team some edge in the future that I think could bring fans back. If it comes with wins ofcourse. Last but not least, I think it is important both Adams and the coaching stuff gets fired, together with some important players moving on. That is what needs to happen when a professional sports team not can live up to expectations. However, it is just as important who the replacements are.
  2. Oh, didn't remember the NMC. Granlund is a player I think would be useful, can play both center and wing, up and down the line-up, on both PP and PK. He is also a really good mentor to young players. Unfortunately I think he will take a discount to play the last years of his career in a warm place, much nicer when his kids come to voisit.
  3. I am all in on Dobson also. A player with more reasonable cap is Mario Ferraro. I think they would be a good second pair. If we can't get them I think Braden Schneider would be excellent with Power. I am thinking if we should swap centers with Bruins, they get Norris and we take Lindholm? Would Bruins do that?
  4. Reimer or someone else, but if Reimer could/want to start next season in a Sabres jersey, still playing the way he does now, it would be great. I can't understand why they gave UPL that many games and his game just got worse. The longer we can keep Levi in Rochester the better. He have earned a call up the way he is playing, he still needs to ern a chance to stay also.
  5. You can't have a loosing streak like that and make the playoffs. It has been over for months already. Someone probably has done that too, but it wasn't the youngest team in the league.
  6. UPL will be back next season, I hope they find a good back-up, and Levi stayin another year in Rochester. I think Adams could do his goalies a favour and get some improvement on defense. Defenders that already know how to defend and know how to clear rebounds. It might help the goalies to get some confidence and a few more wins.
  7. Those are about the same possibilities that I found. NJD have five RHD if we count Seamus Casey in, and they need to improve on middle six, so they might be a trade partner. Rosen for Casey is not something that would have impact next season but it could still be a wise move to get more options how to reshape our D.
  8. Their last game is a home game against Flyers, two teams that misses playoff. I think it should be lots of good beer in the penalty box then, that we can see some fighting.
  9. I suggest to trade Power for Dobson and Byram for Mario Ferraro and some picks. That would be a excellent second pair. Dahlin can play with whoever and still be good. We have a much better D with those two moves. It will never happen.
  10. Braden Schneider on that list is a defensive RHD I think could be what we are looking for.
  11. Canucks might want to trade Demko, not sure if they want Luukkonen with the contract he has? Tristan Jerry anyone? Lol
  12. He might end up being the player with more positive impact on the Sabres from the trade. That can be both a really good or bad trade I guess.
  13. As it seems Kekäläinen drafted well, and he had no trouble with palm trees and he sure could get a trade done. I think his failures in choosing coaches is why I still don't want him despite that.
  14. A 5x7milj AAV contract is as high as I would go.
  15. Petteri Rimpinen is a goalie that might be drafted early. He is overaged but has had a good season in Liiga and was excellent in WJC.
  16. Luukkonen was not a fan of the defensive system Ruff had them play. It just didn't work out well and I think it made him hesitate a bit. Then came the loosing streak and season was over. On defense and offense the team has kept doing the same misstakes over and over with giveaways causing turnovers and defenders that can't defend rebounds giving opponents not only one but sometimes two extra chances. With the way the team plays and the way the D-corps are constructed the Sabres doesn't deserve better goaltending. A former Finnish NHL goalie said that there are hardly any goaltender in the world the constantly would look good in a Sabres jersey.
  17. I support this idea. A total remake is needed.
  18. Current GM of Finnish national team, Jere Lehtinen, won Selke three times as a winger, he is 6'0". It was a long time ago, and a bit difficult to compare, but if we got a Lehtinen we got lucky.
  19. Less penalties and a better penalty kill is a key factor to make the playoffs. Maybe next season then.
  20. And Gallagher was named the heart and soul of the team. If they were Sabres they would probably have let go of Armia at deadline just to get something for him, instead they kept him and extended Evans - so the young players can learn from them! And them two and Heinemann on their fourth line is one of the best in NHL.
  21. But how much cash? And for how long?
  22. They beat contenders and lose to losers. What a torture.
  23. I really hope Quinn can fix whatever is wrong during the summer. He is so far from what I think his ceiling is now that there has to be some sort of injury. If he comes back next season looking the same the only option is to trade him. Noticed that it seems like Bryan Rust lacks trade protection next season. Quinn and Rosen for Rust?
