  1. How are we playing game 3 tonight and they just played the first game??
  2. Hopefully Chris Cloutier is back for them this week...he plays an important role on offense for them. Their D is typically just different in the playoffs...it's hard for other teams to get clean looks on goal...last year was the same thing.
  3. Bandit defense is stifling in the playoffs usually...was last year, has been again this year. If they score like they normally do, they should take care of business.
  4. Was at the game last night and man it was a tooth and nail battle the entire way. Very physical, refs let them play and very low scoring. Bandits took a 5-2 lead into the half with an amazing set piece behind the net goal with 0.1 second left on the clock. Then they never scored again. But they also limited San Diego to only 1 goal in the second half before they scored their final goal with 1 second left to make it a 5-4 final. Matt Vinc has 48 saves and was looking like prime Dominik Hasek out there with several unbelievable saves. Bandits even managed to kill off a 5-3 power play(thanks in part to San Diego taking their own penalty about 40 seconds into it). Definitely one of the more stressful and low scoring games I have ever been at for the Bandits. Goals were at a premium and it never seemed like either team could to truly ever gain any real momentum. Even moreso because the first round is a single elimination game before the next two series are best of 3. But the usual sell out crowd saw them pull off the win and advance to the next round... Let's Go Bandits!!
  5. How can they say "they'll look at every single thing they can and do whatever it takes to get better and improve" when they won't even spend to the salary cap? Sounds like a bunch of BS.
  6. Well OK then...considering we have 2 games left and no playoffs it doesn't really matter anymore at this point.
  7. I am pretty sure it's not Saturday today...just a thought.
  8. Part genetics, part on the way you take care of yourself.
  9. Get a goaltender that can at least be league average.
  10. UPL played so bad that they should have removed him and tried Reimer since they only could have done better
  11. Technically 9, but it's definitely aggravating, especially since we have a better goal differential than Montreal.
  12. The key question is, have the Sabres finally figured out how to play the way Ruff wants and is this what we can expect of them going forward?
  13. If we didn't bench UPL 30 games too late...
  14. If they didn't wait 30 games too long to bench UPL they would be in the playoffs.
  15. Let me guess...just like all their wins against good teams fighting for playoff position, the Sabres only won because they weren't trying.
  16. Sabres have beaten many of the best teams in the NHL over the past few weeks. Motivated or not, if they keep playing the way they have been, they can beat them.
  17. Sabres now have 3 more goals scored than the Leafs, who lead the division, in the same amount of games played. Problem is, they've also allowed 47 more goals as well.
  18. Tuch might be the best interceptor of passes along the blue line I have ever seen for a forward.
  19. This team is an offensive Juggernaut...just need to share up their goaltending and D play.
  20. True enough but the main point is that if Gretzky wanted to score a lot more goals, he easily could have, but his main talent was creating for others to score.
  21. UPL doesn't get the benefit of the doubt on anything anymore. He has shown that he doesn't deserve it and his constant being in the wrong position on goals that shouldn't be goals has worn thin. Essentially, if he wants to get the benefit of the doubt more then have a save percentage that warrants it.
  22. What's crazy is that Gretzky while he scored a ton of goals wasn't really known for that ..he was more known for his setting teammates up for goals as his over 1960 assists show... In fact, Gretzky has more assists than the 2nd player on the career points list has points (Jagr with 1921). That's absurd... So while it's great that Ovechkin broke the record, if Gretzky actually wanted to score 1300 goals, he easily could have which would have put the record out of reach for all eternity...but he did that with the assists record instead.
