GDT: Sabres @ Stars, Dec 31, 2024 - 8:00PM, MSG πΊ, WGR550 π» π

4th time we have had a 3 game winning streak and failed to make it 4. We have to figure out how to get over that hump if they want to make a run. Easiest bet in sports right now is to bet the Sabres to lose if they have won 3 straight. -

I mean Goddamn, could they win a face off every now and then? It's 91% faceoff percentage for Dallas -
https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/edmonton-oilers/latest-news/struggling-oilers-forward-continues-disappointing-season After the coach when asked what Skinner could do to earn more ice team said "Play good hockey", he is now being healthy scratched for Derek Ryan, which marks the first time a healthy scratch has occured to a player under this coach... Skinner appears to be done-zo with the Oilers.

Kulich starting to turn it up... Can the Sabres renaissance continue? -
Tied the record high of 61 today set back in 1990 and 1984

Looks like a sharp end of the year warmup in WNY including 2 days in the mid 50s on Saturday and Sunday is going to rescue us from having our first below average temperature month in over a year. Currently average temp thru 12/26 is 30.7 for the month, 1.5 degrees below normal, but with my calculations of the expected temps thru the 31st, we should end up around 32.8 for the month which should put us comfortably ahead of the average monthly temperature in December which is 31.4 for the entire month as the last week really drops the average temp for the month historically.

They were in a playoff position prior to the skid with a winning record coming off a 3 game winning streak on the West Coast. Let's not try and write revisionist history now.

Former NHL Scout dishes on what he sees wrong with the Sabres

Yes, Dudley lives in Lewiston... He currently resides in Lewiston. βI think it's the people,β Dudley said Monday. βThere's some incredible areas around here. I live in Lewiston, it's such a beautiful place.β -

Conveniently forgot the huge expansion fees teams have paid that have padded the owners bottom line recently huh? Let's see what happens when there are no more expansion fees for a while and most teams go back to hemorrhaging money again without huge windfalls for doing nothing. -
Haha, growing up my best friend's family had a summer cottage in Ridgeway a few blocks from Crystal Beach. Still remember us being in the backyard playing home run derby and hearing the rollercoaster going and the screams of the people riding it...

After being in Brussels this summer and eating real Belgian chocolate, nothing will ever impress me again chocolate wise. By far the best chocolate I've ever had and I have had a lot.

A few other things... This team is night and day different with Dahlin versus without him. If anyone is wondering who the MVP of the Sabres is, it's Dahlin without question. Jack Quinn is quietly starting to heat up...3 goals in the last 4 games and he seems to be moving better and getting to the right places more often. His lethal shot starting to come back...expecting a big second half for him as his shooting percentage is less than half of his career average this season, I would expect it to continue to regress towards the mean. Coming back from injury last year, Quinn was often times the best player on the ice for this team...seems like he is finally getting his game back...am excited to see how this translates the rest of the year.

A little irritating the Sabres snap out of the long losing streak in a big way right before the holiday break and can't use it to build any momentum now since they are off for an extended period. It's like anything that could go wrong or against them this year does.

The Bills are actually the best tackling team on pass plays in the NFL. You sure you are actually watching the same games? Players being wide open on pass plays is a much greater concern than tackling.

No...the only thing that might help is Babich calling plays instead of McD... Perhaps he will be more aggressive during the playoffs and not passive.
